The atmosphere is cute. Ita bright. The hostess was amazing and kind. The food was ok. The pancakes were the best. The service of the waiter was OK. They forgot part of my order. The person I was with asked for a turkey bacon to be cooked a certain was and had to get it sent back and they forgot to bring it back out. We ordered the mimos flight and they were not good at all. All we tasted was champagne non of the flavor. When told that we didn't want them the manager was rude and not pleasant. When she came to the table she didn't introduce her self she came up and said is there a problem here very rudely. Also there is nothing that says that the mimosas are made with syrup. Also this place is being advertised as a black owned and operated but not one black person working in the establishment from the kitchen to the waiters

I had a wonderful experience at The Brunchery in Chicago! The food and service were both excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable. The decor was beautiful and really added to the overall experience.
I started with the margarita flight and chicken deviled eggs, which were absolutely delicious! For my meal, I also enjoyed the catfish and chicken fried chicken. Everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented.
From the food and drinks to the service and atmosphere, everything made for a great brunch experience. I will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend The Brunchery!
*EDITING TO REPLY:* The Brunchery's childish response says a lot about how they handle criticism. Experiences are subjective, as a business should know. The Brunchery just expected me to give them five stars for hotel eggs and batter pancake mix. YOU advertised that you make things from scratch. Not me. Next, I have no issue with diversity. But there were NO black people at this establishment. That's not diversity. So next time you advertise on the merit of being this super Black, from scratch kitchen, don't throw a tantrum. Just live up to what you say. Thank you! ❤️
This restaurant is aesthetically beautiful, and a lot of effort put into the decor.
Unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I can say. The actual experience did not live up to the high expectations the restaurant promotes on social media. Despite advertising itself as a Black-owned establishment, we did not see any black staff members during our visit. The food was mediocre for a place that claims to make everything fresh. The pancakes were decent, but they were nothing special. However, the omelette and hashbrowns had absolutely no seasoning, and the hashbrowns were completely overcooked.
The physical layout of the tables also ruined things. The tables are very close together and we were kind of disrupted from the guests sitting right next to us. The service was attentive, but the place doesn't live up to the hype.

Imagine flying to Chicago for the first time and this is your first meal and introduction to the city!! My taste buds STILL miss this meal. WOW!
I visited this place on July 18th and honey, get there early. We arrived maybe 10 minutes before opening and a line had already formed.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The menu is slightly overwhelming because you’ll want to try it all lol. We were talking to the people seated next to us because everyone was curious about what was best to order.
My biscuits and gravy was *chefs kiss*. The biscuit nearly melted in my mouth and the gravy was savory and packed with flavor. I opted for over medium eggs and the loaded hash browns. My sister ordered the Benedict and cinnamon roll pancakes. The latter was perfect! Not too sweet and didn’t need any syrup. We also shared the bacon flight, which I thought was cute and unique. Lastly, we shared a mimosa flight (2 dragon fruit, 1 cotton candy, 1 blood orange).

GO TO HONEY BEAR !!!!!!
Waited 45 mins for a table, seated and ordered a mimosa flight, she comes back and takes the order and the waitress let me know they have no more cold champagne.... and the shrimp and grits were done for the day. Two of the only things I was interested in besides the french toast flight. Ordered a margarita flight instead 6/10 (the best thing there)
deviled eggs were disgusting just SALTY and served cold, whatever was on top was coagulated by the time it arrived to my table.
ordered biscuits and gravy and that arrived cold and coagulated aswell. + they gave me a 1x1in square of the softest/wettest hashbrown covered in cheese - everything was cold.....
burger arrived well done not medium but OK
turkey club 5/10 bottom bread was wet and breaking maybe from the wet lettuce and the side of onion rings only looked good to the eye because it was so soft and wet when you took a bite !
french toast 0/10 SUPER disappointing tasted like it never got dipped into anything just doused in artificial/ or super sweet syrups tasted like ihop at 2am but sober.
The owner was walking around but unfortunately didnt see me try to grab his attention and walked past me multiple times, to be fair my face was showing I was displeased with every bite I took.
I didnt care for a discount just wanted to let him know that his food was not good today nothing could be served hot is a shame.
Came here from the suburbs due to hype they receive on social media but I would never come back here again. one of the worst breakfasts ive ever had and I brought my friend for her first "brunch" and it was embarrassing for me to say the least.
If coming in at 1:30 pm is to close to closing time for you guys to provide adequate service I would prefer you to turn me away and say that last seating is at a certain time. Felt like they gave you whatever is left in the kitchen and didnt care to even heat up.
Go to Honeybear its only 20 mins and the best breakfast in the city. I would say even wake and bacon puts this place to shame unfortunately.
Honeybear would never serve me the atrocities I was served today. The french toast they serve blows this place out the water, you actually cant even compare because this place does not compete.
The only thing this restaurant is good for is a photo op, the place is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and I would say the food is too but thats all it is, a photo op. Looks good in pictures but lacks flavor. I respect that they use locally sourced ingredients but the flavors are lacking.
