  The tacos here are great, especially the birria taco it was absolutely perfect! The guacamole was also fantastic. The only thing I noticed was that they seemed a bit short-staffed, but the quality of the food definitely made it worth the visit.

  Great food. They don't have enough waiters. Service is good but the staff has to serve too many tables and that makes service a bit slow. Easily solvable having at least another waiter. Otherwise, great place.

  I hired Tacombi to cater a lunch event for my company and was ensured that the order would arrive by 11 a.m. Our order ended up not showing up until after the lunch portion of the event, so I was forced to DoorDash Taco Bell for our guests, who were promised a Mexican buffet. It was humiliating and reflected very poorly on myself and my company, as we had a number of guests from other companies. I have called Tacombi several times (leaving messages with other locations as well since the Peoria location refuses to return my calls) and I have not heard back. I will never use this company for catering again and would not recommend. This is very unfortunate as I loved Tacombi before this incident. But I feel extremely disrespected and cast aside. 0/10 customer service

  I’ve been a regular at Tacombi, and tonight’s experience was disappointing. I was added to the waitlist and told to come back in 30 minutes—nothing was said about needing to “stand by” or I’d have to be placed on the bottom of the waitlist as if I hadn’t already been there. I returned within the window that the first host said to me, even 5 minutes earlier, only to be told by a different hostess that my table had been given away because I “wasn’t there when she said to stand by.” That would have been understandable if she would have been willing to seat us next. But instead, she said she would only add me to the bottom of the brand new waitlist, after we had already waited 25 minutes. What made it worse was the attitude. Instead of acknowledging the confusion or trying to fix it, the hostess was dismissive and unhelpful—no apology, no effort to accommodate, not even a basic estimate for a new wait time. Just a shrug and a reset to the bottom of the list. If this is actually your policy, it’s a terrible one. And if it’s not, then your front-of-house staff needs serious training on communication and basic customer service. Either way, the burden shouldn’t fall on the customer. The servers here have always been great, which makes this stand out even more—but one interaction like this is enough to make someone reconsider coming back.

  I really enjoyed the dine-in experience at Tacombi! The guacamole and homemade totopos were a great start; the guac tasted very fresh, I know some would want smoother dip but I personally prefer a chunky texture. The shrimp tacos are by far my favorite I’ve had, perfect grill on the shrimp and the ingredients complimented them perfectly. The birria tacos were a favorite of my group, the savory and spicy balances well. I also think portions for all items were reasonable, I’ve seen other reviews mentioning subpar experiences in this area but that was not mine this visit. The carnitas was listed as new, and the quesadilla was so good! I hope it’s a permanent menu item going forward. To drink I had the agua fresca Jamaica, I would say this was not my favorite and felt very heavy and not exactly “fresh” but could be lightened with a little bit more sweetness or even using club soda to compliment. Overall the service was fast and my group felt well attended to, and the atmosphere of the restaurant felt fun and bright- like it was summer in the city! The take-out business looked busy on a Sunday evening and I’m excited to both come back to eat and order out.
