I paid over $500 for two people to get the worst food poisoning of my life. The bartender and the chef were nice enough but it definitely didn't feel like an upscale experience. The way the staff was dressed and the hotel room itself were lacking for the price. I wore a dress and felt extremely overdressed. I called ahead and noted that I was celebrating a birthday and they said they'd do something special but they did not acknowledge it at all. The chef was extremely soft spoken and I could barely hear the few words he said about each piece he served. The sushi tasted good but soon after I was sicker than I've ever been and missed work the days following. There is no kitchen in the hotel room and I searched the room for refrigeration, wondering where the fish was stored before being served. The worst part of all is I called and there was no manager available to speak to. The girl who answered didn't care at all to speak to me about my experience or sickness. She rattled off an email address and hung up. I didn't bother to email. Beware, this place is not worth your money!

Came here for my birthday and was one of my favorite dinners ever! The experience is so intimate and fun, the chef and staff are so personable and easy to have fun with! They made the experience 1000x better. As for the food, every piece we were served was beyond amazing. It’s been one week and I’m still craving every course of that meal. We will definitely be back!

Zero stars barely 1 even if google shows 2 stars I rarely write negative reviews, but this one felt necessary. I’m well traveled, live in downtown Chicago, and make a point to try a new restaurant almost every weekend — especially sushi. Chicago has an incredible sushi scene, which is exactly why this experience at Sushi Suite 202 was so disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service felt standoffish and unnecessarily cold. There was an air of attitude that made the entire experience uncomfortable rather than special. When you’re paying premium prices for an “exclusive” omakase-style experience, hospitality should be part of what you’re investing in — and it simply wasn’t there. The space itself? It’s essentially a hotel room setup. The sushi was okay, but nowhere near memorable enough to justify the hype or the price point. Chicago has far too many excellent sushi spots to spend your evening here. If you’re curious about Sushi Suite 202, honestly, you’re better off staying at the The Hotel at Lincoln Park, ordering sushi takeout, and making yourself a martini. You’ll save money and likely have a more enjoyable experience. This place is overhyped. It’s just a hotel room with decent sushi and a disappointing attitude. Do not book it. Absolutely Not worth over $500 for 2 ppl.
