The service was the highlight of the day only rivaled by the atmosphere!! The staff was kind, friendly, fun and attentive. The food was good but not necessarily great
For the New Orleanians looking for Other New Orleanians’ Review: Yes. Hits all the points. Price isn’t bad. They know flavor and it’s not just hot. Proper Creole. I’d give them room to explore what they want to try. I’d trust dat.
Family history there into the 1600s. Left after Ida. My hubs is 100% Cajun, I’m 1/2 Yat 1/2 Cajun. He’s a chef with 2 culinary degrees and 30+ years experience. After being here for 3.5 years, I finally found some proper Creole food. Even the poboy had me at Danny & Clyde’s, R&O’s or CastNet.
As wings being in my top 3, I think you just beat out my favorite wings in NOLA. #WhoDatWingsAndMore#2 might actually have a challenger. And they FELL off the bone! Perfect.
Lemme know when yall get a SnoWizard!
Beautiful restaurant, but the service was by far the worst part of the experience.
I came because I’d heard great things about the “Thursday all-day happy hour”. The food and drinks were good, but it took far too long just to get a drink. The bartender with freckles came across as very rude and made it feel like you were bothering her every time you asked for something.
I understand the restaurant is in the hood, but that’s not an excuse for poor customer service. There’s a respectful way to speak to people. Not everyone appreciates an aggressive or dismissive attitude when they’re simply trying to enjoy a meal and drinks.
All of the food was delicious! We had lamb chops, gumbo and a shrimp&salmon dish. Service was also fast with a friendly staff. The restaurant is very beautiful and modern inside. Even on a busy holiday, things were great!
I was on a visit to Chicago and wanted soul food. Found this gem of a restaurant from a bellhop while staying at Swissotel.
I ordered the hot honey chicken that had the best crisp and crunch. Also had the Mac n cheese along with some greens. The Mrs. Had regular fried chicken. Not having a reservation but a weekday afternoon, the hostess was kind enough to seat us.
The restaurant was a laid back, chill vibe with R and B music playing. If back in Chicago, we’ll definitely stop back through.
