Let me say! The atmosphere from the door was great; a beautiful place; the bathroom was a little nasty but where we sat was absolutely beautiful! The young lady who served us was great! I mean, she did what she could with what she had. Beautiful service. But my food Shrimp and Grits! NASTY! It was sweet so I asked the server to take it back and she did however because the Gentleman/ hostess didn't like that I didn't like the food he said I can't take it off the bill but to get something else instead, so I ordered the chicken and sweet potatoes and y'all, he brought it to me personally in a to-go box! In other words, I can take it to go! Ushering me out after waiting two almost three hours for my entree! And brought our table the check. All in all, nope NEVER AGAIN! Thanks Rob for giving me your name🤏🏽

Found this delectable gem on the west side of Chicago and let me tell you, I was soooo glad we found it! Kitchen n Kocktails canceled our reservation because someone famous came to their establishment and turned us away at the door!!!!! We were greeted at Soul’e with a pleasant smile, clean building, nice music and was seated right away (even though he suggested making a reservation). Our waitress Mya was so sweet and attentive. She made recommendations for almost everything on the menu lol. We ordered the catfish, dirty rice, sweet potatoes, fried chicken, greens and cream corn (I know a lot but wanted to sample), let me tell you everything was FIYA! Even with the crowd they had, we didn’t wait long for our food. We got a chance to talk to the owner to let her know about our experience and she was the absolute sweetest. If you’re ever in Chi check them out, you will not be disappointed!

My sisters and I went there last night and the chicken, fish and greens was so salty to the point that we couldn’t eat the food. We’ve been there before and it was great but last night was horrible. The Mac, sweet potatoes and cornbread was good but catfish and chicken was terrible. The owner walked around and greeted each table and we all said the food was salty. She said that due would address the chef about adding more water to the greens. None the less the $168 e we spent was a waste.

The food was pretty good. I ordered the pot roast soufflé; it was a bit salty, which is why I prefer food that's under-seasoned rather than over-seasoned. I also would have preferred it not to be served for dine-in in a plastic takeaway cup, as there are health risks associated with eating hot food in plastic containers, especially plastic not designed for hot foods. That was really the only reason for the star drop. Please consider a healthier packaging option, as this would prevent me from ordering the dish again in the future. It wasn't hot, which was a good thing in this instance, so I was less worried about the toxic plastic container, but it would have tasted better if it had been. The macaroni and yams started to gelatinize a bit because they were at room temperature, but they were still good. The cup also made it a challenge to enjoy the layers of cornbread, beef, macaroni, and sweet potatoes. I wish it had been served in a dish instead of a plastic cup. I didn't like the presentation, especially since I was dining in. No one wants to pay a hundred in total for food with ordered dishes being served out of a plastic cup. The staff was very professional and kind. The environment was clean and festive.

I ordered to go but I walked into the restaurant. It was loud the DJ was live and all. Basic brunch spot fr. Apparently you’re supposed to go to the side of the building for Togo orders. When I went over there, the AC was out so it was a little hot and the lady that was giving out the food was a bit rude. Plus when I got there, I had to wait a little extra because my food wasn’t ready at the time. They said it was supposed to be ready. I ordered the fried fish/yams/mac. Fish was mad salty. Yams needed more cinnamon cuz it tasted like straight butter. Baby ordered the fish, rice, & green beans. Said it was mid. I tasted the rice, it tasted like the one you get from the orange pack from Walmart. And it was still hard. Def 2.5/5 mind you, it was expensive. Order the strawberry lemonade as a drink, and it didn’t really taste like lemonade, mostly tasted like a strawberry fruit punch which I personally didn’t mind. And I got the peach cobbler, which was really the only thing that I liked out of everything.
