  Fantastic Soul Food and I do not say this lightly because I am from the south! Derek was our server and he went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. The staff was friendly professional and the food was expertly seasoned! We will definitely return to this restaurant when we are in Chicago again!

  Soul vibez- Chicago 431 North Wells I saw all the hype on the gram about this place, so I decided I wanted to try it because I was in the Chi this weekend. I also wanted to support this black owned establishment. The anesthetics were beautiful, but that is all! It was crowded & as we entered the hostess was kind & seated us right away. We had reservations for 7:30 for a group of 4, but they accommodated us with giving us seating for one more in our party. Kudos for that!🧡 My sister had an 8pm reservation with a group of 4 as well. So, our waitress was Gianna P. She was overall kind. She took our order. Salmon bites with a side of macaroni & cheese, red beans & rice, soul wings with a side of greens, jerk chicken Alfredo w/garlic bread, 1 soul trio platter & Cornbread 2 adult beverages. Ok!!! Our food, what actually came, came out sporadically. We had to keep asking for our total orders. The macaroni & cheese came out probably a whole 10-15 mins. after her salmon bites. The greens were the same way. They came out about the same amout of time. She was finished eating her wings. The waitress just kept saying their still working on it. My nephew NEVER got his wings that he ordered. Well, I finally got my pasta without the garlic bread about 45 mins to an hour!!! Everyone in both of our parties were finished eating. Top it off, MY PASTA WASN'T EVEN HOT!!!! IT WAS BARELY WARM. Asked to speak to management & was told they didn't have a manager at this time. So the lead over the servers came over. When I say RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! I began to try to explain to her my frustration of not receiving anything to eat & my whole party was finished wirh their meals. She proceeded to speak to me in a very aggressive tone & hand gestures. "Everyone in your party had appetizers & you had an entree. Therefore, it took longer, blah blah!" It was her delivery! Horrible!!! Our second party had entrees & they received their food.. So now, tell me again why i don't have my food?😡 My niece that was sitting a table over noticed her aggressiveness & came over to asked, why was she so aggressive& rude? I was so disturbed by her rudeness & aggression. I asked her to step back over to talked to me. I explained to her how rude I felt she was. Her exact words were, i'm matching energy! Lady what!!!? "Ma'am, no one gave you bad energy. I'm trying to voice my frustration in a professional cslm manner. Now tell me lady, how is any of this my fault?? You work with the public & even if a person gives negative energy, as a lead YOU DON'T MATCH ENERGY! I responded by letting her know, "I have worked with the public for 34 years & would NEVER talk to a customer as you have spoken to me today & would DEFINITELY NEVER tell a customer I'm matching energy!!" After this second conversation, she did apologize. The lead servers name was Jenni. I got my meal to go after they warmed it up. Brought it back again with no garlic bread. Had to ask for it again. After all of the this. I got back to the hotel to eat rhat was 8 mins. away & it was NOT GOOD!😩😢😡 very dry, but a nice portion size. Of course that was over $30 dollars i threw away. It hit the garbage. My family said the greens, cornbread & macaroni & cheese were all delicious. 🧡 I will NEVER visit this establishment again. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO VISIT THIS PLACE. My experience! Very disappointed & disgusted! I feel this could have been a better experience. Maybe the owner should rethink the leaders that have been chosen to help run the business. Jenni definitely isn't good for this business.

  Soul Vibez is a cute, lively, brunch/dinner spot that serves up your typical soul food fare. The atmosphere gives “party vibes” but has wide generational appeal. I ordered the fried catfish meal that came with two sides of your choice. The portions were huge! I had the collard greens and the Mac ‘n cheese. My fish was a bit salty but the collard greens toned it down. The mac n cheese was decent. I also had a piece of cornbread, which was perfectly thick and fluffy. I indulged a bit and got a flight of spiked lemonades with tequila, and babee…those alone will make me want to come back. I sat at the bar and the service was wonderful. Everyone was very accosts attentive.

  The restaurant has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot for people who enjoy a chill vibe. It also offers a bar for those who would like a drink and has good options for vegans. The complimentary water was decent, although it came with two straws, which seemed unusual. The food took a little longer than expected to be served, but it was well worth the wait.

  Soul Vibez is truly a hidden gem and absolutely worth a visit. It is a cozy spot that fills up quickly, so arriving early is definitely a good idea. After tasting the food, it was easy to understand why this place is always busy. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, perfectly portioned, and prepared with great attention to detail. The staff were outstanding throughout the entire visit. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great experience. We also tried a few cocktails, and they were just as impressive as the food—well crafted, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Between the welcoming atmosphere, incredible food, delicious drinks, and top notch service, Soul Vibez delivers an experience that is hard to forget. This is the kind of place you look forward to visiting again before you have even left. I cannot wait to come back.
