  A historical place and still is a pillar of the community. Good eats to live for all ages. I'd recommend for vegans looking to experience a wide variety of meals.

  Wow. Incredible. Words can't describe it! So incredibly flavorful. Our favorite is to just order from the daily changing hot bar. Our favorites to get are the mac and cheese as well as whatever bbq meats they have available that day. Everything here is vegan! We also got the "Italian V" one time and it wasn't our favorite, but it was still pretty good. We just stick to the hot bar now. We have also tried their ice cream and smoothies and they're both really great too! The staff and the overall ambiance of the restaurant is both very happy and joyous. Everyone there always makes you feel welcomed and makes you want to return. Parking can sometimes be a little difficult as I believe there is only street parking. We have returned multiple times here and each time we are blown away! We look forward to continuing to visit Soul Veg City for their amazing vegan soul food. Soul City Veg has become our new favorite vegan restaurant in Chicago. At. If you like flavorful food, friendly staff, and a clean restaurant you need to visit here!

  I ordered the the mac, greens and sweet potato egg rolls for my mom...and once it was delivered the food looked horrible we were so disappointed then the lady I spoke to over the phone lied about giving us a refund we never received a refund. They messed up my mother's order big time and then tried to lie about it. It's hard out here and we spent money on food that we were looking forward to eating that day and im going to show a picture of what was delivered to us...basically there's no excuse whatsoever for delivering a customer food that they can't even eat....it was that bad burnt and very hard...they didn't even try to accommodate me at all....all she said was we were trying to get your order right by calling you...yeah but u could have simply gave us a refund the GrubHub driver didnt cook the burnt eggrolls....there's only one egg roll on the menu I didn't order anything else. She tried to switch it all up, but nothing made sense...I wish u guys could see the egg rolls they delivered to us. I will never purchase any food from them again. They just don't care enough.....unsatisfied customer. I will make sure the owner knows that they need to train who made the burnt eggrolls that day...Pic coming soon!!!

  I really wanted to love my experience at Soul Veg City because the atmosphere walking in was actually beautiful. Seeing so many Black people gathered together and the energy of the place felt welcoming and comforting. The person taking orders was also very nice and the menu looked promising. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill after we ordered. We waited about 35 minutes for our food, and when it finally came out, it was cold. What made it more disappointing was that when we politely brought it to their attention, it felt like there was pushback instead of an effort to make it right. I understand restaurants get busy, but long wait times combined with cold food and poor handling of the issue made this visit frustrating. I truly hope they improve the customer service side because the vibe and concept of the restaurant have a lot of potential.
