I am extremely disappointed with my recent experiences at the McDonald’s location on 95th Street. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident, but part of an ongoing pattern of poor service and order inaccuracies that I have experienced at this location. During my most recent visit, I waited nearly seven to eight minutes just to have my order taken. I understand that customers are encouraged to use the app or self-service kiosk, but neither option works well for me because I have specific modifications to my order that are not always available through those systems. When I approached the counter to place my order, I did not feel welcomed as a customer. Instead, I was made to feel as though I was inconveniencing the staff simply by needing assistance. What made the experience even more frustrating was that my order was incorrect when I received it—even after I had clearly placed the order with someone I believed to be a manager. At this point, I find myself having to double- and triple-check my order every time I visit because mistakes have become so common at this location. I understand that the restaurant industry is facing real staffing and operational challenges. I work in this industry myself and previously worked for McDonald’s for more than 12 years, so I fully understand how difficult it can be to operate with limited staffing and during busy periods. However, staffing challenges should not mean that hospitality, accuracy, and basic customer service disappear. During my visit, it appeared that only two employees were working in the restaurant. If that is the case, I believe the ownership, General Manager, District Manager, and leadership team need to seriously reevaluate the staffing and overall operation of this location. The employees who are working should not be placed in a position where they are overwhelmed, and customers should not repeatedly receive poor service because the restaurant is not adequately supported. What is especially disappointing is that I live less than 500 feet away and can literally walk to this location. I want to support the businesses in my neighborhood, and this would normally be one of the most convenient places for me to visit. Unfortunately, convenience is no longer enough when every visit involves waiting, attitude, incorrect orders, and the need to constantly check that my food was prepared correctly. At this point, when I have the urge for McDonald’s, I will simply wait until I am downtown or traveling to another area and visit a different McDonald’s location instead. It is unfortunate that I have a McDonald’s location practically within walking distance of my home, yet I no longer feel comfortable giving this particular location my business. I will continue to visit other McDonald’s locations to fulfill that craving, but I will be avoiding this location until there are meaningful improvements in both the customer experience and the overall operation. I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I am asking to be greeted as a customer, treated with basic courtesy, have my order taken accurately, and receive the food that I ordered. I do not need attitude, and I should not feel like a problem because I need to speak with an employee rather than use a kiosk. I know the struggles in this industry are real, but hospitality and quality still matter. Based on my experience, this location needs serious attention from its leadership team. I sincerely hope improvements are made because, as someone with years of experience in the restaurant industry—and with McDonald’s specifically—I know that customers deserve better than what is currently being delivered at this location.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an interaction I had at one of your McDonald’s locations on July 27, 2026, at approximately 1:15 PM. I ordered the new Caesar Bacon Chicken Sandwich. After receiving my order, I politely returned to the counter because the sandwich did not appear to have the amount of Caesar dressing that is advertised in your promotional photos. I simply asked if the sandwich could be made with the advertised amount of sauce. The store manager, Nina, responded by saying that additional sauce would require an extra charge and that they “only put a dab on the sandwich.” Since the sandwich was not prepared as expected, I then asked if I could receive a refund. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Nina made a passive-aggressive comment, stating that “I need to go on vacation again because I don’t get paid enough for this.” I found this remark to be unnecessary, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate for a customer service interaction. She then returned and tossed a small cup containing one pump of Caesar dressing toward me. When I asked, “So I have to put the sauce on myself?” she offered no meaningful resolution. As a customer, I was disappointed not only by the lack of willingness to resolve a simple concern but also by the manager’s attitude and unprofessional comments. I expected a much higher level of customer service, especially from someone in a management position. This restaurant serves a community in a Chicago neighborhood where professionalism and respectful customer interactions should be a priority. I am not writing this complaint because of the sauce itself. Rather, I am concerned about the way I was treated by the manager. Customers should be treated with courtesy and respect, even when they have a simple request or concern. I hope McDonald’s will review this incident, provide appropriate coaching or corrective action if warranted, and ensure that future customers are treated with the professionalism and respect they deserve.
