I would highly recommend this place for business needs and business purposes especially if you were keeping any here. Take care excellent side pairings are great and they have a list here can’t wait to go back while and highly recommend all the cuts here this place is a great job.

The most discrimination place the men workers looked me and my friends up
And down judging us about what we had on. He quotes “boot cut jeans are not casual” I wouldn’t send my dog in here. BY THE WAY ONE OF THE WAITERS HAD ON A MINI DRESS WITH SEE THROUGH TIGHTS. (I hope the owner sees this).

I’ve dined at Mastro’s Steakhouse a handful of times, and this visit was good and bad.
They called ahead to confirm my reservation, which is always nice. When we arrived, they went above and beyond by giving us a complimentary custom menu and dessert that said “Welcome to Chicago,” which made the night feel extra special.
The service was AMAZING!
They were attentive, professional, and truly top-tier. The live singer added a great vibe to the atmosphere, and the lemon drop cocktail was excellent.
The only downside was the food itself. For a restaurant of this caliber, it was surprisingly under-seasoned. Most dishes could have used more salt and overall flavor, which was disappointing.
Honestly, everything else was so good that I would’ve easily given five stars if the food had matched the level of the service and overall experience

I recently dined at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Chicago as part of a party of three, and my experience with billing and service was unacceptable.
At the end of our meal, our server, Tim, initially brought out three separate checks without us requesting that. We clarified that we wanted one check. When the revised bill was presented, it included an automatic 20% gratuity, which was inappropriate given that our party consisted of only three guests.
My card had already been taken by Tim prior to receiving the corrected bill. We then requested to speak with a manager, Cynthia, who acknowledged that gratuity should not have been added and stated she would reverse the original charge and reprocess the payment correctly.
However, Cynthia never returned to finalize the situation. Additionally, the original receipt that I provided to her was discarded without my consent. When I asked security to retrieve her so I could obtain my receipt, I was told it had been thrown away and was instead given a reprinted version on plain printer paper not itemized.
This handling of the situation is deeply concerning. Discarding a customer’s financial receipt and failing to properly resolve a billing error—especially one involving an unauthorized gratuity—reflects a lack of professionalism and accountability.

I would not recommend this establishment for black people or any people of color. Previously on February 14th I attended Mastro's and had an excellent time with my partner. We were treated very well, the food was amazing, and the overall ambiance was top-tier. Our table was even greeted by the Beverage Director - Kim Seang. Overall I spent $300, which was money well spent for a Valentine's Day dinner. A very nice tip was included as well. I thought to recreate this experience on 4/17/26 with my partner by making a reservation for 7:30 PM that night. I even asked the host before coming if they could have Kim greet the table. After reaching Mastro's I checked in with the host stand and immediately was greeted by what seemed to be a 'bodyguard'. I'm a black man and the 'bodyguard' was a bigger black guy and told my partner that his pants did not align with their dress code. My partners pants were slightly distressed and all white and even underneath the distressed portion of the pants had white material underneath. I reviewed the dress code previously to even coming and did not see how he was going against their dress code. It was off-putting and seemed very confrontational because I could not understand why the pants were an issue. It almost seemed like when he saw two black men that he needed to find an issue. He also blocked the entry way to the two separate dining areas with his body as though he didn't want us coming in. I even stated why is this such a big deal because we would be sitting the whole time. This whole interaction upset my partner very much and with incident we ended up leaving. It was very embarrassing as we had Uber-ed there and were expecting to have a great dinner, but we left feeling unwelcomed and profiled to some degree, mind you, we're both engineers. After leaving we even walked to Steak 48 another well known fine dining establishment and were told we could find seats at the bar or set a reservation for 9:00 PM that evening. With everything that happened we ended up calling it a night and just Uber-ing back home, and to think what if I came from a far distance. I would say this will cause them to lose money and sour your customer base. For context my partner's outfit (face omitted) attached to this review. For that reason, I would not recommend and won't be going back.
