  On my way to our all-class reunion picnic, my friend and I stopped at this Jewel location to purchase grilled chicken. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Ms. Raquel (I believe that was her name) at the deli counter. Ms. Raquel genuinely seemed happy to help me. She was patient and took the time to explain the “U” deal on the chicken, which I truly appreciated, especially since Jewel’s chicken prices are no longer posted. I’ve visited many Jewel deli counters for grilled chicken, and unfortunately, most of the employees I’ve encountered have not been very customer-service oriented. Raquel, however, is the epitome of great customer service. Her smile, warm welcome, kindness, and willingness to help made my experience a pleasant one. Thank you, Jewel, for hiring someone who understands the importance of treating customers with such great service!

  I go to Jewel regularly and normally don’t have an issue. I usually use the self checkout but today I went to a cashier, waited my turn. Then when it was my turn and the item I scanned came out to more than I expected. I told the cashier Kam, & then asked “can I go check the price to make sure it’s correct?” Instead of him going to check it. He leaned back and shrugged his shoulders. I went to go then came back and showed him the price then he told me to wait. He was with someone so I didn’t mind him finishing up with him but then he took the rest of the line before me. I felt discriminated against because I’m Hispanic and he chose to ignore me and take the other people in line instead first. I asked if someone else could check me out and he gave me my product and shrugged again and said “sure” insinuating to get in someone else’s line. So unprofessional it’s gross. I went to the manager Angela and she apologized and said I shouldn’t have had to do that myself. Have him put boxes away or something where he doesn’t have to work with people. Collect carts outside instead bc the attitude sucks.
