  You be waiting for help at self checkout and you see all the employees more concerned with buying pokemon cards on the clock… management allows this?

  I’m sorry, but I have to say something about my experience today. I went to get a salad, and the employee helping me was very rude. She was African American. I asked if they had a specific salad, and instead of answering politely, she just nodded her head and gave me a look that made me feel like I was asking a stupid question. They sometimes have to make some that’s why I asked if they had some or not. Whatever, I let it go. Later, my mom wanted grilled chicken, and another employee helped us. She was very kind. However, next to me was a customer who didn’t speak much English and was trying her best to communicate with the first employee I had. Instead of being patient or trying to understand her, the employee had a rude attitude the entire time. The customer was trying to say she didn’t want spicy chicken. The employee asked, “So you want honey?” and the customer replied, “Yeah, no hot.” The employee then responded in a rude tone, “Okay, so honey.” The customer then tried to ask, “How spicy the chicken is? but because her English wasn’t very strong, the employee interrupted her and said, “You said you didn’t want hot,” with an irritated attitude. She rolled her eyes and made facial expressions as if the customer was annoying or something. I’m sorry, but if you don’t want to help people, then don’t work in a place where customers from different cultures and backgrounds come every day. Everyone deserves to be treated with patience and respect, regardless of the language they speak. The employee’s behavior was unprofessional and unnecessarily rude.

  I placed a chicken order 2 weeks prior and confirmed it with them 3 times throughout the week. The day of chicken order pick up, they stated they did not have my order and were over booked. They were very rude and unwilling to help me. Almost ruined my party but good oh harolds chicken came through!!! And was even better!

  The only worst thing about this neighborhood grocery store is the Deli Department!! They have the worst people working there. So many times my husband has told me he hates getting deli meat because the people either give him a bad attitude or seem not to even want to do their job. So today being Sunday while I went to go do some quick grocery shopping, instead of me going to my favorite grocery store for the Deli meat which is Cermak produce, I decided to just get it at Jewel Osco to save me from making another stop and maybe I won’t have the people who always wait on my husband. While the lady was slicing my sandwich meat and then proceeds to walk towards the weighing machine she stops and proceeds to have a whole personal conversation with her co-workers while holding the sliced sandwich meat on her hand. I’m standing there waiting and even walk towards her so she can turn around, weigh and give me my deli meat. But no, she continues to talk for a few minutes. Whatever she was talking about she was expressing her reactions moving her arms and holding my deli meat until she finally looked back and I told her if I can have my deli meat so I can leave. Now I saw for myself what my husband has always been talking about the deli department people. So this is why I will never buy any deli meat from Jewels again and Cermak produce continues being the best grocery store in the neighborhood for their sale on deli meat. Cermak produce has some really nice people working in their deli department, even if they’re talking to their co-workers they still acknowledge that they are waiting on someone not like Jewel Osco. So this is why I give Jewels a 3 star rating because I still have to go make another stop somewhere else just to buy deli meat.
