  This staff member was absolutely awful—constantly complaining about the job and being blatantly racist! Do you actually provide any staff training before letting people work? I am extremely disappointed.

  The people there are incredibly rude and spoiled. I went to the store with my bicycle; since I didn't have a lock, I brought it inside and parked it near the entrance because I didn't want it stolen. While I was shopping, they started talking about me, watching me, and meddling in matters that didn't concern them. When I finished shopping and went to pay, the security guard told me I couldn't park my bike there. I told him, "Let me pay for my purchases first, and then I’ll leave and won't park it here again." Instead, he snatched the items from my hands and said, "We don't want to sell to you," and even tried to hit me for no valid reason. Such behavior is immature; people like that should be fired. It is better to go to other stores.

  About two weeks ago I went into Jewel to buy groceries. The security guards that were hired are aggressive they follow you every where you go. I will never shop at Jewel again because if they are so worried someone will steal a little bit of food is obscene. Chicago is hurting just like the rest of the country. EBT and health care was taken away from so many people in Illinois. If we aren’t helping the community they should never be in business again.

  We were heading to an event by the beach downtown and decided to stop here for refreshments instead of buying from the vendors outside, where prices were easily double. We picked up some ice, drinks, and sandwiches, and it ended up being a much better value. I hadn't been here in about three years, and I was surprised by how much the store has been updated. The refrigeration units and shelving look newer, giving the place a fresher and more modern feel. While prices are still a bit higher compared to some suburban stores, that's expected for a Chicago location and it's still far more affordable than buying from street vendors. The selection was also impressive, especially the variety of sandwiches and grab-and-go items. Overall, it was a convenient stop with plenty of options and a good shopping experience.
