  This place is fantastic! The staff were very kind and welcoming. Our waiter, Melanie, was super kind and on top of everything. We didn’t wait long for our food and dessert, and when it was brought to us everything was fresh and tasted delicious!!

  Pizza is just WOW!! Especially the Deep Dish!! Garlic cheese fries were so good! Wife had Bruschetta and a Veggie personal pan and was the bomb she said. We ended up eating there twice before leaving Chicago it was so good!

  We are frequent customers at this location, which is why I was pretty disappointed with our most recent visit. The fries we ordered with our pizza were extremely oily and seemed like they had been sitting out before being put back in the fryer. On top of that, the cookie skillet we ordered for dessert was cold, hard, and did not taste fresh at all—definitely not what a skillet cookie should be. Our waitress was wonderful, though. She immediately replaced the fries and explained that a new cook was still learning. While we completely understand the learning curve, management should be checking plates before they leave the kitchen to maintain their usual quality. We really appreciated our waitress listening to our concerns and providing excellent service despite the kitchen issues.

  It has been a while but I love this place it is in a good place in the city pretty quiet and not all that hustle and bustle when you want to enjoy a meal without being bothered from outside noise or great seating while watching others struggle in life asking for money, I do help the unfortunate but for me it is hard to enjoy a meal on ground level in Downtown Chicago when you see people hungry asking for help. So I do apologize for that part if I offend anyone but it is hard for me to enjoy a meal while watching people struggle. All in all this is a great place for privacy.

  The great chicago deep dish has fallen! What they made for me today wouldn’t even be classified as pizza because pizza has slices. Even deep dish can hold itself together. But this was the saddest pizza I’ve ever gotten. It was a glob of cheese baked into the tiniest stingiest crust but then they poured watery tomato juice on top soaking the pizza. I know that this is what deep dish is made of, but it was just executed really poorly in a lot of ways. Granted, this was the personal sized pizza. But should the size of the pizza really matter at a place like Giordano’s, an instituition with a name, known by all Chicagoans famous for the pizza that is synonoumous with the city itself. And here I am in Chicago proper ordering exactly the city’s greatest speciality, to receive this. I will say I have had decent deep dish in Chicago (at the Art of pizza in the loop, no special attachment to it though), so all hope isn’t lost, but a bit sad to be served what I was today. I’ll bump it a star for the friendly service and that fact the lunch special was not a bad deal.
