Visited with my parents, who have back pain and needed booth/sofa seating. After waiting 45 minutes, we were assigned a regular table even though several booth tables were empty. We politely asked to move, but were told those tables belonged to different servers. We even offered to place our order first and move later while the pizza was being prepared, but that was refused too. Being asked to wait another 45 minutes despite empty booths showed a lack of flexibility and empathy. Very disappointing customer service.

I was really looking forward to trying Giordano's, but unfortunately the customer service completely overshadowed what was otherwise a good meal. We ordered a pizza and, after waiting an hour, asked our server for an estimated time on our food. She said she would check, but instead of coming back with an update, she sent the manager over. The manager told us they had just received a large order of about 40 pizzas, so the kitchen was backed up. That was the entire conversation. There was no apology for the delay, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no offer to bring us anything while we waited. A few minutes later, our server came back and asked, "Did my manager tell you about the wait?" I said yes, and she replied, "Yeah, we didn't know about the order, it was last minute." Again, there was no apology, no offer to refill our water, no suggestion of an appetizer or anything to make the wait more enjoyable. Nothing. The entire experience gave me the impression that online and phone orders are prioritized over customers who are actually dining in. We were there at 1:00 pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant wasn't crowded, yet we still waited an hour and a half for our pizzas. To be fair, the pizza was great once it finally arrived. The food definitely lived up to the reputation. However, great food doesn't excuse poor customer service. Communication, empathy, and simple gestures of hospitality go a long way, and those were missing throughout our visit. When customers are spending that much time waiting, the least they should receive is an apology, updates, refills, or even someone checking in to acknowledge the inconvenience. Unfortunately, none of that happened. The quality of the pizza was excellent, but the quality of the service was unacceptable from start to finish. The experience simply wasn't worth the hassle. The next time I'm in Chicago, I'll be doing more research on other pizza spots before deciding where to spend my time and money.

In town from Paris back to Chicago - a city I have adores since I was a kid. Stopped my this wonderful pizza place that began my love affair with Chicaho-style pizza. Their lunch special is an absolute value (but they need to get a better soup choice - why not tomato basil? ) and their Italian beef aranchini were out of this world! How original and so Chicago. The chocolate chip cookie for dessert was the best skillet cookie I've ever had. To top if all off, my server Matt E was an absolute professional and made the experience even better. He knows the menu well and provides great suggestions. I cannot wait to come back. Only complaint would be that they charge a 3 percent "restaurant fee" and 1.95 for a ranch dipping sauce.

Deep dish pizza is a must-try according to many who have visited Chicago. When I first visited Chicago years ago my experience with DDP was great. It was a very filling and delicious experience. This visit to Giordano’s was okay. The first thing that stands out was how poor the service was. Our server was not particularly quick, friendly, or caring. He wasn’t devoid of attempting to do his job, but he wasn’t good either. The ambiance is busy. Folks love pizza and this location in summer is busy. Our wait for a table for three was quoted as 20 minutes but we were seated quicker. We actually waited for our server longer than it took to get seated. The bathrooms were clean and seemed well maintained. The pizza we ordered was a deep dish pepperoni. I found our pizza good but slightly disappointing in that it came out slightly cold. The crust was great as a breadstick after eating the saucy and cheesy part. We also ordered a salad that was okay. All in all, I probably wouldn’t come back considering the service and price, but I do acknowledge that deep dish pizza should be tried and Giordano’s still makes a good one.

This review is long overdue! I've been coming here religiously every time I visit Chicago for more than 25 years, and it remains my absolute favorite place for authentic Chicago-style pizza. I've sampled just about every famous pizza spot in the city over the years, but I always come back here. Nothing else compares. The pizza is simply incredible—perfectly made every single time. In fact, I love it so much that I order a dozen pizzas online every year just so I can enjoy a taste of Chicago from home. That's how much this place means to me. One of my favorite memories happened here years ago when I unexpectedly met John Travolta while dining. It made an already special place even more memorable! Whether you're a lifelong Chicagoan or visiting for the first time, this restaurant is an absolute must. After more than two decades of coming back, I can honestly say it's one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I love this place and can't recommend it highly enough!
