Several bartenders skipped our group at the bar, serving people around us that came up after us. When we finally caught someone’s attention by waving them down, they said “I saw you, you don’t need to wave.” If you saw us, why did you pass us by 3-4 times?

Went to Wicker Park Emporium for my cousin’s birthday and had such a fun night! We made a table reservation ahead of time just so our group would have somewhere to sit, but luckily since it was a Wednesday it wasn’t too packed.
We spent most of the night playing arcade games and pool. A couple of the machines definitely showed their age though, the air hockey table wasn’t working very well and the Frogger joystick had issues turning left. It didn’t ruin the night at all, but we could see why some people prefer the game selection at the Logan Square or Fulton Market locations.
One of our favorite parts was the mystery vending machine! Everything inside was wrapped so you couldn’t see what you were getting, but the packages had funny/random labels like “birthday package,” “90’s stuff,” and other quirky themes. Such a fun little touch. We also loved the photo booth, always the best way to make memories from a night out!
Just know some of the games might be a little quirky or not work perfectly, but honestly that kind of added to the charm 😂 Overall we had a great time!

Alright… the place is cool… the vibe can be different. Wicker Parker got some wanna be hipster white folks. If you’re a POC this place is great for other POC to conjugate as I really believe they are a safe space and as a plus they have music that usually tailors to the American (Black) culture.
Service wise… there bartenders are really disappointing… especially the short haired lady with lots of tattoos. Ordering drinks with her seemed like she is overwhelmed easily and honestly just should look for a new or better fitting career. I get everyone has bad days but I ordered 4-6 drinks with her during my duration and every time was painful from her facial expressions, rude or backhanded comments, or just attitude upon drink delivery (I hate saying thank you and no and saying anything). Although service from her was off-putting and disappointing I ensured to tip 18% each time as I appreciate her service.
