I was really disappointed with my experience. The restaurant was extremely loud and rowdy, making it difficult to enjoy our meal or even have a conversation. Our server hardly checked on us, so getting refills or assistance took much longer than it should have. The food was good, which is the only reason I’m giving it any credit. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and lack of attentive service outweighed the quality of the meal. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience.

I stopped by Elephant & Castle during my visit to Chicago, and it was a great place to relax and enjoy a casual meal. The restaurant has a classic British pub atmosphere with a comfortable, lively vibe that made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in. I ordered the fish and chips with a pint of local beer, and everything was excellent. The fish was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and the fries were perfectly golden. The beer was served ice cold and paired perfectly with the meal. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout my visit. Even during the busy dinner rush, the staff checked in regularly and made sure everything was just right. One tip: if you enjoy sports, this is a great place to catch a game while enjoying good food and drinks. Visiting during happy hour is also a great way to experience the lively atmosphere and try a few appetizers. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Elephant & Castle. Thank you to the entire team for the delicious food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Chicago.

I have gotten takeout of their bread pudding multiple times you absolutely must try it. It is the best traditional dessert I’ve ever had in Chicago. Today was my first time dining in, and I ordered the shepherd's pie and fries. The fries were excellent, but I was a bit disappointed with the shepherd's pie. It was under seasoned yet overly greasy. The dish was made of mashed potatoes, frozen vegetables, and ground meat, but the mashed potatoes on top didn't seem baked enough. The flavors of the potatoes, meat, and frozen veggies didn't blend together, and the texture was hard to describe. There was too much oil at the bottom, and it just didn't taste great, though it was barely acceptable. Since it was my first time trying it, maybe I just don't like shepherd's pie in general. That said, everything else was great, and I also ordered a bread pudding to go when I leave. The service here is excellent. The staff checked on me regularly and were incredibly friendly and polite. The atmosphere is also amazing everyone was cheering for the World Cup together, which made for a fun and relaxing vibe. Even though I don't really follow sports, I loved the overall decor and energy. I will definitely come back to try other dishes

Only by my restraint have you avoided a team of lawyers descending on this business for illegally towing a vehicle belonging to a disabled child that was legally parked in front of this building. We had a valid handicap placard displayed and, as an added precaution, had even PAID to park there. Our vehicle was legally parked. Even the judge was shocked by this situation and immediately dismissed the towing case and all associated fees. Unfortunately, that did not undo the stress, wasted time, financial impact, and hardship your actions caused our family. Because of your decision to tow our properly parked, one-month-old vehicle, our severely disabled child was forced to spend an additional hour walking while we desperately searched for the car. The emotional and physical toll this caused was significant and completely avoidable. To make matters worse, we also had to visit the dealership afterward to address damage caused during the tow. What makes this even more concerning is that the tow company did not seem remotely surprised to receive a call from this location, suggesting this may be a regular occurrence. If that is true, other families may have experienced similar treatment. Should our legally parked vehicle ever be towed again from this property, our family is fully prepared to pursue legal action. Multiple attorneys in our family — including the child’s father, brothers, and sister — were appalled by what occurred and are prepared to investigate what appears to be a pattern of unlawful towing practices. Your treatment of a disabled child and her family was unacceptable, inhumane, and disgraceful. Please educate yourselves on the laws surrounding disability placards and the legal protections afforded to disabled individuals and their families before causing this kind of harm to someone else again. You should also reconsider these towing practices before they result in consequences far beyond a dismissed court case.
