I'm not sure about their service charge. One server told is it was not their tip but it was certainly high enough to be.

Some of us place supporting local establishments as high priority in our dining experiences. That said, some practices by restaurants after COVID left the customers puzzled. Nothing sours dining experience more than staring at the non-itemized check that needs explanation from a server. For a check that totaled $68, the hand-held device indicated my credit card was charged $93. Then the server came back to explain that there is automatic service fee of 20% (and 3% for using a credit card). After tax, the bill is more than 36% higher than what was ordered from the menu. For the restaurant to force upon 20% tip is an absolute dealbreaker and I will never return for that reason alone. Ironically, I was actually going to tip more than 20% given the excellent service, but not if I am told I have to. The concept of tipping has been abused this way by many and it is time to stop.
As for the food, the burger at this place is quite good. But other dishes including chicken wings, are mediocre at best. The wings were overcooked, dry, and had no flavor, and the buffalo sauce was not as good as Frank’s. Had very good Manhattan in my previous visit and sangria was also quite good - and serving a glass of ice as an option for sangria is a nice touch.
I really wanted to like this place for number of reasons. But a small meal with two drinks for three people at nearly $100 can be far better at other places nearby.

This is definitely one of North Park's culinary gems. I didn't feel like cooking dinner, so my wife and I walked over for a great meal. I ordered a coconut milkshake to start and my wife had the she spicy cocktail. Both were excellent in their own way. For entrees - I had the famous smash burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful while the fries were crunchy on the outside and sweet and moist inside. My wife had the fish tacos - which she totally enjoyed. We also shared a side order of plantains - hot, gooey, and sweet. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was a very enjoyable meal. We will definitely be back to try the other delicious menu items.
Oh my God! Its a hidden gem...for me.. a new restaurant in the neighborhood! The food is amazing! Chief, does an amazing cuisine menu with fusions of West Africa and American cuisine.. they are amazing!!!

This place is an absolute GEM
Wow. Living in Roscoe village I would assume you could experience creative high effort food with incredible service but we don’t. I can’t wait to come back and try the Nigerian and Butkina Faso food. Ps
Don’t sleep on the tacos. Don’t sleep on the Brussels
