Casa Madai was life-changing. Their counter omakase was my very first omakase experience and it completely blew me away. I will be thinking about these plates for the rest of my life! It's an intimate space too - you get the opportunity to sit and watch the chefs in a flow state with their preparation. The innovative combination of flavors, the explanation of each dish and the origins of each ingredient, and the distinguished-yet-comfortable atmosphere made this restaurant a place I will never forget.
Went here for date night with my husband and we can’t wait to go back!! Amazing service provided by Jesus. And the food was incredible!!!!
This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Chicago and easily the best omakase I’ve had. The flavors that Chef Ismael put together are so innovative and refreshing. He was so fun to talk to and you can tell how knowledgeable he is about flavors. Loved how the omakase was also very fish centered. Highly highly recommend!

A few weeks ago was the first time I dined at Casa Madai and the experience has not left my mind and tastebuds. The food was absolutely delicious! Sushi with a Mexican twist, brilliant!
The staff treated us so well! Jesus and Juan were fun, knowledgeable, and gave us the best service I’ve had in a long time.
We will be going back for the omakase soon!
The spot is cozy and friendly. The sushi is not traditional but very tasty. The flavors lean heavily on savory and buttery. Each piece of the omikase was unique and creative. The cocktails were similarly inventive and delicious. Would definitely recommend the spot, though with the expectation that you're getting less of the classic briney, oceanic, and marine flavors for more of a Japanese-inspired, umami-heavy fusion meal.
