I'd been wanting to try this place for awhile, and it was definitely worth it! I was worried we'd have to wait awhile because we went during lunch on a Saturday, but we got our food very quickly. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life, and the sweet potato tater tots were heavenly! We'll definitely be returning here!

Smith burger co shares a space with collective pour. Good atmosphere and the southern chicken sandwich was wonderful!
Food was 10/10 but service was awful. Both servers were on their phones the whole time, said we could get up and get our own refills. Service was next to horrible but the food was great! Little bit more service from the wait staff would have went a long way, especially when there was only 3 tables seated and a few people at the bar.
I recently found about this place and had to go try the burgers for myself. I ordered the Sunday Burger and Cajun fries. It was even better than I anticipated! Hands down the best fries I've ever eaten - perfectly seasoned - and quite possibly the best burger I've ever had, too! The Sunday Burger is a double smash burger with bacon and an over-easy fried egg on it. Absolutely loved everything and I highly recommend you going by. I know I'll be back!!

Update: as the owner stated below, he did make it right and offered us a giftcard and got back to me very quickly. I very much appreciated that. I hope the employees were spoken to like I was assured and will treat customers with more understanding and kindness from now on.
We have always enjoyed Smith Burger until our most recent experience at the Yard location in Champaign. We placed an order and got a buzzer to wait for our food. I stayed at our table the entire time with the buzzer while my husband helped our kids play some games. I thought it seemed like it was taking a very long time to receive our order, but our buzzer hadn’t gone off. The girl working the cash register finally approached me and told me our order was ready. I told her I had no idea because our buzzer never went off. She told me she was sorry and that someone else had the same thing happen earlier that day. Anyway I didn’t think much of it, assumed our food would still be warm and went to get it. We got it back to our table to discover it was all cold. Not lukewarm, downright cold. I didn’t feel we should eat cold food for something that was not our fault. We took the food up to the counter to explain the situation. The girl working the cash register told me she didn’t think she could do anything for that and then another woman approached, I explained to her and she tried to show me that the buzzer worked. I politely explained well unfortunately for whatever reason it did not go off and I was sitting right there with it at our table. She clearly didn’t want to believe me and basically made me feel like she thought I was lying. She then spoke in Spanish to one of the cooks who then loudly laughed at us. It was extremely rude and poor customer service. All we wanted was a nice family lunch with hot food. We were not at fault, they could have been much more understanding and kind. They refused to make it right, so we got our money back and left.
