This incident happened on June 29, 2026, at approximately 4:31 PM.
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a Chipotle Mexican Grill. The manager, Joyce, yelled at an employee who was prepping food because he left a towel on top of the counter. The way she handled it was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable, to the point where all the customers noticed and looked away.
What made it even worse is that this employee appeared to be the only one prepping at the time, and he was keeping up while doing a great job. His table was clean, and that work area was honestly one of the cleanest stations I have seen at a Chipotle in the past few months. He was clearly working hard and doing his job well, so seeing him get yelled at like that was very disappointing. When an employee who is doing a great job is treated that way in front of customers, it shows that something is wrong.
During my visit, Joyce was also texting on her phone. When I asked about my mobile order, all she said was, “Too bad, I’m off the clock.” I then asked another team member in the kitchen for help, and he apparently had the same attitude. He laughed in my face and said, “Her name is Boss Man, what’s your name?”
I also want to add that this is really sad because I’ve never had this kind of experience at Chipotle before. The food is great, and I’ve always enjoyed eating there, but this visit was extremely uncomfortable. The way the situation was handled on the floor was unprofessional and embarrassing to witness.
I would not want one of my kids to see or experience anything like that. For now, I will be staying away from Chipotle. I usually visit Chipotle about four times a month, but I will now try to find another place where I can eat in peace and where managers treat customers properly and represent the company with professionalism.
This sends a very bad image of the company, which is unfortunate because the food is great. This experience was disappointing and completely changed how I feel about visiting that location.
