  Needed to get some laptop work done and felt like trying somewhere new so I stopped in. An employee asked me what I wanted, I told her: medium decaf latte with almond milk. She said okay. Then she walked towards the barista stand and started making a drink. I walked over to the cashier. She asked me what I wanted to order. I told her I thought the other lady was working on it bc she asked me what I wanted, I told her, then she said okay and walked towards the area where the thing I ordered was made. Turns out that wasn’t the case; other lady didn’t know what I was talking about (?). Okay whatever. I order the drink again and pay. Then I sit down. I see a sign that I hadn’t seen anywhere else but the tables (you know, the place you don’t go to usually until after you’ve already paid for something 🙃) that said something to the effect of: “no laptops here. Talking/eating only.” Well shoot. There goes the whole reason for me being here. I go up to try and get a refund, listing the reason. Tried to first go to the first lady who “took my drink order”. “I don’t have a latte with almond milk” This was after I’d already placed the order with the second lady. And paid for it. “Oh never mind, I see it here.” (?) Then I try and get the refund with the cashier. “Oh we’re not really enforcing the rule rn since it’s not busy, you’re fine.” If you say so. Then I sit down and try to connect to the wi-fi. Horribly slow, not a single page loads in the five or so full minutes I’m sitting there. And the latte didn't even taste that good. I just threw it away and drove over to Espresso Royale to start over. The whole whiplash of an experience just felt like a big waste of time. And a waste of money cause I didn’t get the refund I asked for. And I asked for the refund before the drink was even made, so that makes the whole thing felt super silly. I just wanted a coffee. Instead, I got…. Whatever this experience was. Can’t say I’d recommend stopping in if you’re just trying to work at a cafe, whether it’s busy or it’s slow. Maybe if you’re a family with a lot of kids. Or need a spot for a business meeting or something. Idek. UPDATE: I ordered the exact same drink at Espresso Royale, a decaf almond milk latte. This new drink actually tasted like it had almond milk in it whereas the first drink at Art Mart certainly did not. So not only did I waste a bunch of time and money on such a weird experience, they also likely made my drink wrong on top of it all. Jesus.

  this is a really an amazing place that has items that i would have never expected to exist. between the food side and the shop side, you can seriously get lost in here for hours. i had a really amazing experience and the staff were cheerful and kind. it certainly will be great to return once i can. the atmosphere is relaxing, and you can never go wrong with their deli and bakery cases.

  I will go out of my way to get coffee from here. Thjs is my favorite place in champaign to get coffee and the little shop is cute to walk around in too

  Such a cute place! Great spot for specialty gifts, food, drinks, and hanging out. Cafe is no laptops FYI. Key lime bars were amazing! I would have spent lots more money and time looking at all the amazing kids stuff (so much Jelly Cat!!!), greeting cards, clothing, dishware, etc if I had it. Must see if you’re in Champaign!
