  While a new restaurant at the Hollywood Casino in Aurora, an under-whelming experience on so many levels. Waitress did not deliver drinks to the table until 20 minutes after taking the order; foccacia bread was mediocre, appetizer of calamari dry, rubbery and flavorless; chicken parm did not come with any side pasta; spaghetti sauce very ordinary; shrimp bucattini ok, though waitress clearly did not share cost of 6 shrimp was $78 added on to a $36 dish! Setting was also somewhat noisey. Definitely a disappointment so it is a one and done given a $300+ bill (including 3 drinks) for party of 4 while sharing two entrees. Manager did acknowledge concerns and made adjustments to the bill.

  The food was very good but our table was awful. We were seated in a booth by the bar right by the entrance. It is very loud there and it was difficult to have a conversation or hear the waiter. You could hear the music from the restaurant, the music from the casino lobby, and the live band in the casino all at the same time which was very distracting and was just noise. We asked for a different table back in the actual restaurant when we were seated and were told that was all they had. We made our reservations a month in advance and apparently that was all they had. We were celebrating a birthday but the night was ruined as we couldn’t really talk to each other.

  We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Sorella! From the moment we walked in until the end of our meal, the service was exceptional. We arrived without a reservation, and the staff at the front accommodated us quickly and graciously. We immediately felt welcomed and valued as customers. Our waiter, TJ, was truly outstanding. He was attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and had such a great attitude throughout our entire meal. We told him what kinds of food and drinks we typically enjoy, and his recommendations were spot-on. He was even able to recommend drinks that perfectly matched our tastes based simply on what we described to him. Everything came out in a timely manner, and the combination of the food, service, ambiance, and hospitality made the entire experience top-tier. We go out to eat quite often, so we really appreciate when a restaurant delivers this level of service. TJ was also training another staff member during our visit, and it was great to see how seamlessly he balanced that while still being incredibly attentive to us. He made us laugh several times and added so much personality to the experience. One detail that especially stood out was when he noticed us looking at the food at another table. Without us even having to ask, he explained what they had ordered so we would know what to try the next time we came in. That kind of awareness and attentiveness says a lot about the level of service he provides. We honestly can’t say enough good things about our experience at Sorella. The hospitality, attention to detail, recommendations, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. TJ was awesome, and we will absolutely be back!

  My husband Chris and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Sorella by Giada, situated within the recently opened Hollywood Casino Aurora. We were accommodated at the bar, and the service provided by Cassie was truly exceptional. She offered insightful recommendations, addressed our inquiries, and ensured we felt genuinely welcomed. Her skill in crafting our beverages was remarkable; "The Isabella" drinks were prepared to perfection. The Chicken Piccata Meatballs were exceptionally well-prepared and remarkably tender. I highly recommend this appetizer, which can also be effectively paired with pasta as a main course. The Piedmontese Ribeye was exquisitely flavored and exceptionally tender accompanied with a Gorgonzola sauce. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Cannelloni, featuring jumbo crab in a Vodka sauce, rating it an outstanding 15 out of 10 and describing it as truly exceptional. We complemented our entrees with the potato lasagna and broccolini, both of which were superb. For dessert, we selected the hazelnut chocolate cake, which was adorned with roasted hazelnuts, a creamy Nutella mousse filling, and a chocolate glaze. My husband, who typically does not prefer hazelnuts, also thoroughly enjoyed this dessert. We anticipate returning to sample additional culinary offerings and specifically requesting Cassie, who significantly enhanced our dining experience!

  My husband and I have been devoted food lovers since the earliest days of cooking shows, and Giada De Laurentiis has always inspired us with her approachable, heartfelt Italian cuisine. Dining at Sorella by Giada felt like stepping into one of her recipes. Nestled inside the casino, Sorella is a beautiful escape from the excitement outside. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, the service is attentive and genuinely gracious, and every dish reflects the care and passion Giada is known for. There is simply nothing like fresh, house-made pasta, and you can taste the love and craftsmanship in every bite. It’s refined without being pretentious, comforting while still feeling special. If you’re anywhere in Chicago’s Western Suburbs, Sorella is absolutely worth the drive. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to an exceptional Italian meal, you’ll leave already looking forward to your next visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
