  They used to use chicken breast, but at some point switched to thigh meat. If we had known that they would use thigh meat, we would not have eaten there. Ordered a chicken burrito and a double pollo salad, both had thigh meat and were better in the past when they used chicken breast.

  The chicken is delicious. Perfectly grilled. My favorite sides are the mac and cheese and rice. The avocado salsa is out of this world. The flan and churros are amazing, too. Ive visited so many times and the staff is so attentive and welcoming. I love coming to the Meridian location and can't wait for the other ones in Nampa and Caldwell to check those out too. The reviews seem pretty harsh for such a great little restaraunt that delivers everytime that I visit. Keep up the amazing work, El Pollo Loco!

  Beware of the bait and switch. I've been there twice and both times the skinny, tall, tipped hair kid with the pencil thin mustache told me they were out of wings when I ordered all white meat, breast and wing. He wanted to know if 2 breasts were okay. All white meat breast and wing meal should be $11.49. I get to the window and they tell me the price is $14.49. I ask why isn't it $11.49 and the girl at the window tells me because I ordered 2 breasts. I tell her I didn't order 2 breasts, I ordered a breast and wing, but the guy said they were out of wings. She says "we're not out of wings". So I say then give me what I ordered, a breast and wing. She says she can't because the order is already in as 2 breasts. I tell her to get the manager. He asks what the problem is and I explain the bait and switch and the kid who's tried it twice on me now. I'm hopping mad and express how pissed off I am, and the manager is more concerned about my language than fixing my order and identifying the kid that is making his business look like a rip off joint. Buyer beware! They are trying to pad orders! Why would you be more concerned about my language than fixing my order and making the customer a happier customer? It'll be a long time before I return.

  I had seen a lot of mixed reviews, but my family and I went and overall was just really disappointed. I got a chicken taco, and the chunks of chicken were huge, which was weird. And the taco was extremely dry. They only offer like whole pinto, beans in burritos and as sides, which is also weird. Just the overall choices and flavor of the food was very bland. The restaurant also seemed to have more seating outside than inside.

  From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and inviting, and the service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely professional. The food was outstanding, with fresh flavors and excellent preparation that made the entire experience stand out. It’s refreshing to visit a place where the quality of the food is matched by the quality of the service. El Pollo Loco truly delivered an excellent experience from beginning to end, and I’ll definitely be back
