I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, our visit was pretty mediocre, and we likely won’t be back.
The Food:
Boise Benny: It was pretty good overall, but the egg wasn’t fully cooked, which was a disappointment. The side of potatoes was decent.
Pastrami Sandwich & Tomato Basil Soup: My husband ordered this combo. While the sandwich was okay, the tomato basil soup was incredibly watered down and lacked any real flavor.
The Drinks & Service:
Strawberry Cheesecake Matcha: It was decent, but absolutely not worth the $9.50 price tag. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for oat milk without being informed beforehand.
The Service: My husband ordered a Coke that was completely forgotten and never brought out to the table.
Between the missing drink, the flavorless soup, and the hidden upcharges on an already overpriced matcha, the experience just didn't live up to the price.

High quality, excellent, exceptional food. Homemade amazing good corn tortillas, great for food sensitive folks. Great service and menu choices.

3 different occasions eating here. The flavors have been fantastic every time but I fear the execution of the dishes is what leaves more to be desired. The lemon ricotta? Divine. The French toast? Delightful. The breakfast sandwich, short rib skillet, pastrami burger, and eggs Benedict are all yummy. However, every dish has the same texture component… they are all somewhat soft/mushy. The flavor is what has brought us back multiple times! That and the general manager is phenomenal :) she’s always been so friendly and upbeat anytime we dine! That being said, some of their servers have seemed more on the irritable side… which has had some minor impact on our overall dining experience. I’m not ready to give up on these guys yet! Will probably give them some time before returning though.
They were VERY allergy friendly. I didn't feel limited by the menu and those pancakes.... To Die For. Can get pretty busy but service was still speedy and super friendly. I also appreciated that the tea came in a pop top can. Made taking it to go at the end of our meal easy.
I recently visited Max and Louie’s Café in Garden City and, unfortunately, left quite disappointed with the culinary experience.
To start with the positives, the service was excellent. Our server, Malia, was incredibly friendly, nice, and highly professional throughout our visit. Layout of the place was beautifully decorated lots of fresh air and quite pleasant. Additionally, the coffee I ordered first was quite good, featuring a well-rounded and pleasant flavor.
However, the food did not live up to expectations. My first dish was the Short Rib Skillet ($18.25). When it arrived, I was shocked by the small portion size. It was a very small amount of food served in a 6.5-inch skillet, which felt like a poor value for the price. Texture-wise, the country potatoes were highly inconsistent; they were cut into different sizes, leaving some small pieces overcooked and stiff, while the larger chunks were mushy and lacked flavor. While the short rib itself was juicy and flavorful, the overall dish failed to come together, and the flavors did not mingle well.
Knowing the skillet would not leave me full or satisfied, I ordered the broccoli cheese soup with bread to salvage the meal. Broccoli cheese is one of my favorite soups, but this version was watery and incredibly salty. It is the first time in my life I have ever pushed a broccoli cheese soup away, but I could only manage two bites.
I love to eat and always hope for the best, but having two consecutive dishes fail back-to-back means I will not be returning. Great service from Malia, but the kitchen execution and portion sizes fell entirely short.
