We visited El Jefe’s Mexican Grill as a party of four and spent well over $100 on food only, with no alcohol. For that price, we expected much better quality and flavor.
The beans were hard and seemed undercooked, and the rice was also hard. Overall, the food was disappointing, especially given the cost. When paying over $100 for four people, we expect fresh, well-prepared food that matches the price.
Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations, and we felt the quality and taste were not worth what we paid.

We had their food truck down at the marina and it was absolutely amazing, the rice bowl and the steak tacos are our favorite! We had to make a stop at the restaurant location before we left town just to get more. Thank you to Heidi and the team for the wonderful service and food, we'll be back!
AMAZING FOOD!!!! This is the Carneviche & Queso fries, the flavors are insane! We got top notch service from Eli! New favorite spot in town!!

Heidi welcomed us and this was an unexpected wonderfully delicious experience! The food was perfectly prepared with fresh local ingredients and no seed oils. That’s a win! Thank you!!!!🩷
I ordered the steak viche. At $17 for the steak viche, the portion was really small. About 5-6 bites of steak and it wasn’t the greatest flavor, the steak was chewy. Definitely not worth it. The steak viche used to be my favorite menu item, I would recommend it to everyone. I remember ordering it a couple times when this place first opened and not only have the portions gotten smaller, the price increased and the quality in flavor and taste decreased. Disappointing, I won’t be ordering from here again.
