  We stopped by El Jefes for the first time yesterday. I gave this place five stars because our food was outstanding. The lady who works there is super nice and offers excellent service. The downfall is the expense. We spent $46 and I had a rice bowl with no meat, because it would have cost 10 dollars more. My husband enjoyed his cheeseburger and we only ordered one soda. Also, you pay at the counter before you sit down. I realize the cost of food is going up and we enjoyed our meal.

  GPS took us a weird route and we almost didnt see the place but im glad we did! The mango habanero wings were insanely good, the tacos were great, and the burrito was huge and pretty good too! Service was quick and simple and we had an enjoyable evening!

  Ordered the Nacho Fries with steak and birria. They were absolutely delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection! Nice crunchy fries and good queso! We were visiting from out of town but would be back often if we lived local. An added plus were the really neat seating tables with the local lakes etched into them!

  Nope. I just paid $74 for RICE. We have given this location 6+ tries for the same basic meal: chicken burritos (we've only done pick-up, haven't dined in). The first time, they did great. The sauce is really really tasty, and that's what kept us coming back. The second time, they didn't grill the exterior of the burrito. Texted the "owner" through the app, who immediately responded with apologies and I never had that issue again. Now, I've noticed less and less meat on my burrito. Mind you, I'm paying $19 for a BURRITO, including a $6 charge to add MEAT. SO, I expect some MEAT. The past few times I've requested light rice because we don't eat a lot of carbs. Their "light rice" is the same as full rice. IE: THE ENTIRE BURRITO. You get a load of rice, a scoop of black beans and 6-ish bite-sized pieces of chicken. I wish I was exaggerating with the amount (or should I say lack of) chicken, but it's the sad truth. See my pics with the cross-cut of today's burrito. My clincher is that I ordered 3 of them today, totaled $74. Whoa, that's insane for take-out (and this is ME picking it up, not an upcharge by a delivery service), but ok, if it's tasty then I'm here for it. But it's ALL RICE. I've included pics. Unfortunately, the track record here is pretty awful as we've given them plenty of chances. Super bummed because my next meal is free due to the points I've accumulated. But if you can't afford to provide your loyal customers with a quality product, you shouldn't be in business. Period.

  El Jefes grill was solid, the tacos were great with the pico and pickled red onions. The burrito was ok, it was primary all rice with black beans and meat. The pulled chicken nachos were good along with the waffle fries. The restaurant atmosphere was ok, relatively small (not ideal for large groups), located in a strip mall, and from what I noticed they don't offer margaritas (liquor drinks), only beer. Overall, great quality food and steak.
