Customer service should not be this difficult. I asked to purchase a side of guacamole because the front station had run out, even though guacamole was clearly available at the online-order station. I was told they couldn’t get it from that side unless I stepped away and placed an online order—but no one could explain how to do that. After all the unnecessary back-and-forth and attitude, they gave me the guacamole for free anyway. It would have taken two seconds to simply take care of the customer, especially since the restaurant was the one that ran out at the front station. Better communication, problem-solving, and customer service are definitely needed.

33 dollars for two of the saddest bowls you’ve ever seen. You get one sad pathetic scoop of whatever you pick. I was so annoyed that they actually charge so much for so little. I’d die before I go back.

I almost never leave negative reviews. Actually, I can’t remember the last time I did. But what happened tonight at this Chipotle in Boise was absolutely unacceptable. We came in as a family of four and ordered bowls and burritos. When we asked to add guacamole, we were told there was NO guacamole left. I even joked with the staff: “There’s a Trader Joe’s right across the street — I can go get you some avocados!” They laughed and apologized again: no guacamole. I then told them: “A Chipotle without guacamole is like a McDonald’s without meat.” Remember that sentence, because the staff will definitely know exactly who wrote this review. Here’s where it gets unbelievable. Our hotel is literally across the street. Once we got back, I thought maybe there was another Chipotle in Boise, so I opened the delivery app and ordered chips and guacamole. Guess what? The order arrived. With guacamole. And the bag came from THE EXACT SAME CHIPOTLE that had just told my family there was no guacamole. So apparently there was no guacamole for customers standing inside the restaurant — but somehow there WAS guacamole when we paid through a delivery app. Instead of paying roughly $10 for the guacamole we wanted with our meal, we ended up spending around $30 with the order and delivery fees just to get food delivered ACROSS THE STREET. I took the bag, walked straight back into the restaurant and confronted the manager. This isn’t about $10 or $30. It’s about lying to your customers. If there was a legitimate reason why guacamole could be sold through delivery but not to customers ordering inside, then explain it. But telling four customers to their faces that there is NONE LEFT and then sending guacamole out of the same restaurant minutes later is completely unacceptable. I run businesses myself, and I would never accept a customer being treated this way. A Chipotle without guacamole is like a McDonald’s without meat. Except apparently, the guacamole was there all along. Absolutely disgraceful customer experience.
