Everything was off. Waited 30 minutes with open tables. Had to ask for bread. There 90 minutes and never refilled water once. Filet was overcooked. The reason? They were busy. Never asked if we wanted dessert. Didn't ask if we needed boxes. Just not a good experience.

We had a reservation here for Mother’s Day. It was a party of 8 we’d reserved weeks ago, and confirmed yesterday. Arrived there today and it WAS busy but there were also a few open tables in every area and the bar was empty. Checked in for our reservation and stood waiting quite awhile. We saw a big open table right in front of us, but still stood waiting in the front entrance longer. The hostess was turning people away that didn’t have reservations. Holiday, understandable. But EVERY group that came in with a reservation had to wait at the door FOREVER and we all noticed the hostess was kind of avoiding the front once there were enough frustrated groups up there. She comes back up finally, we ask how much longer, she asks if she’s already checked us in. Yes, half an hour ago. A server comes up to the front and she asks him if he wants a 4 or an 8 (we were the 8) and he said, right in front of us, “Oh I don’t want an 8, I’ll take the 4.” So the groups behind us all got seated before us. We waited even LONGER. We’re a pretty patient family but by this time tables were emptying, we’re still waiting, no acknowledgment from the hostess at all. We talked about leaving but knew it’d be hard to find somewhere else with availability today. Another member of our party asked how much longer and she asked again if she’d gotten our names yet. I said, “Yes, we checked in a long time ago for our reservation that started a long time ago.” She took us to the table that’d been open the entire time. I said, “This is the table that was open when we got here.” We literally just stared at it forever while being ignored by her. She said, “Yes but I didn’t have a server for you.” I said, “Well glad we made a reservation.” She was soooo rude! She turned, rolled her eyes and said, “Well we’re really busy today.” By the time we sat, half the tables were empty, the server that refused the table of 8 had moved over and was working at the super empty bar with 1 person there rather than serving tables, and everyone seated around there that hadn’t walked out after waiting too long was just as frustrated as we were. We had a different server and she was very nice, but forgot about us a lot. At one point all of the servers and the hostess were just standing in the back talking while us and all the tables around us were just sitting there staring at our food in the window for quite some time. We could literally all see them just talking in the corner. Someone, I assume a manager, yelled at them all in front of everyone and they all came running out and we all got our food. The food was great, zero complaints about that. Super good and everyone enjoyed it. But then when we were done we had to go get our own boxes from the station because our server didn’t come back again. Every time the hostess walked past us we got dirty looks the entire time. We really couldn’t believe it. Half of us at that table have been in the restaurant industry for quite some time at some point in our lives and we just could not believe it. It’s a shame the service was so terrible and the hostess was seriously the most rude, unprofessional we’ve had in all of the Des Moines area, in all these years we’ve lived here, because the food really was great. They asked for a 5 star review when we left, but unfortunately we can’t do that this time. Won’t be back. There are SO many good places around with great food AND great service. Not wasting our time to get this again.

Absolutely disgusting, When they brought our food out it was accompanied by tons of fruit flys. My medium steak was well done. Not the end of the world. Food was cold. Not the end of the world. For the price you pay here you should be served edible food. There were ants all over the bathroom sink. Everyone wafting flys while they’re trying to eat their cold food is not a good look. We were a table of 5. Not single person ate more then 10% of their plate. When the server asked if we needed box’s we couldn’t help but just laugh at the fact we wasted our money and time at this hole in the wall that needs patched up ASAP. Disgusting.

Me and my girlfriend wanted to try random restaurants in Des Moines so we arrived here on a Saturday night with little expectations and no pre-read of any reviews. Upon arrival, we noticed lots of people eating there for prom. We realized it was busy but we were seated reasonably quickly afterward. When we were seated, our server brought us bread (with no oil) and barely spoke to us. She then took our drink order and brought out our drinks. Our drinks had no sugar rim and we were also not left any straws. Fast forward to the main course, my girlfriend leaves to use the bathroom and she comes back to tell me that they were out of toilet paper and that the bathroom was not clean. Then when she sat down, she noticed the floor underneath us had not been swept at all, something we hadn't even noticed, before she stepped on a cloth napkin that had been left by someone previously. We then asked for another refill of our drinks, and it took our server fifteen minutes of being on her phone and talking to her coworkers to bring us our drinks. My girlfriend then asked for a straw, and she walked past and boderline threw it down on the table. Also, didn't bring me one, my girlfriend had to reach over to the server stand to grab me one. When we were leaving, I thought they were closing so I was giving our server lots of grace because me and my girlfriend both work in restaurants, so we're very understanding. But we then realized that the establishment closes at 11. We were there at 9. When we asked for the bill, our server lost her book twice and then gave us our reciept without leaving a pen. Honestly just super awkward and we were clearly an "inconvenience" when there was only one table aside from us. Just honestly not a good experience, wouldn't recommend. Food was good but not worth having to do the servers job for her.

The absolute worse place I have been to in a while. Sunday 4/26/26 my husband and I went in to try this restaurant(first time). Upon arriving there was only one other table being serviced. We ordered our drinks. Wasn’t notified that there wasn’t waffle or French toast until we ordered our drinks(we mainly came for that) decided to still stay. Meatballs(appetizer) came out cold. After sitting for a hour other people came in and got their food before us. When we asked our waiter about our order she informed us that our ticket was misplaced. This was our first and last time visiting. Hopeful that they get better in the future but I will not take a chance on this restaurant again.
