This was my second time to this location, and again I was disappointed. Service was not great. The rice was undercooked (still hard in the middle), and the chicken was overcooked and hard.

1. The main door where the line would start was locked so myself and two other separate people thought they were closed, but one of the guys tried another door since we say people ordering - walked in and they just stared at us as if we walked in and they were closed, but it was only around 7:30pm 2. The girl taking the order obviously didn’t want to be there instead of asking “what can I get for you” or “what would you like” she just looked at you. - I’ll take a burrito bowl - literally gave half of a spoon of rice, I had to ask for more which still was only about another half a spoon, then when it came to the steak I got 5 pieces - actually thought about just walking out at this point, but asked the guy if that was all the steak I’m getting - Chipotle just scamming people on these portions. This Waukee locations needs some major help. The door being locked should have been my indicator.

Longtime Chipotle goer since 2009 back in Chicago, recent transplant to Des Moines area. Been avoiding this location due to the rating and reviews. Gave in since short on time and had a movie at the Palms.
Did not see any of issues mentioned? Burrito was fat, tasted good. Place was a little messy but that’s the default at chipotle these days. I’ve had worse tasting chipotle and less portions at others.
TLDR: Burrito was fat, tasted good, passed my test 👍🏽

The food at this location is generally pretty good. Occasionally their brown beans taste awful, and this was one of those times.
It wouldn’t be a big deal, but prices have steadily increasing over the years. For a $14 burrito/bowl, it better taste right. I miss the days of $8 burritos that weren’t half full.
That being said, if you’re looking for the best possible bowl—or burrito—this is the order for you:
White rice, brown beans, steak, mild salsa, corn salsa, shredded cheese, sour cream, and shredded lettuce—queso is optional.
We tried ordering online and picking it up at the pickup window. The pickup window is reserved for online order pickup only. There is no drive up menu service where you can speak to the staff inside, place an order from your car and wait for them to make your order. The window is strictly reserved for people who have placed their order online and paid for it already. You are supposed to drive up, give the name on the order and the confirmation number, they hand you your order and you drive off.
But.... We placed our order online, paid for it, and drove to Chipotle at the assigned time. When placing your order you must specify if you are walking in to pickup, or using the drive up lane to pickup your order. We chose the drive up lane.
There were only 7 cars total at the digital pickup line when we arrived 5 minutes before our assigned time. No lie, it took a full 30 minutes to move up 7 spaces to get to the window.
Then, it took another 5 minutes for a staff member to open the window and ask for the order name. Then it took another 5 minutes to get our food. The food was cold, and not good. By the time I got the food, it was about 35 minutes later than the time we were supposed to pick it up.
While we were all waiting in the pickup line we saw multiple groups of customers walk into Chipotle, place their order, get their order and walk out past us to get back into their cars.
So I can definitively say that ordering online and picking up does not save time. It adds a significant amount of time. I probably won't go back to Chipotle again.
