On a road trip to Missouri and found this spot for dinner in Des moines. Food was superb. Service was warm, quick, and friendly. Would come back next time in Des moines

New Ownership seems to have caused it to lose its shimmer. Five years ago this was in the rotation of great places to be. I wish I had read the reddit post before picking dinner tonight.

Sadly Flying Mango is a shell of it's former self. My wife and I got carry out tonight, so I am factoring that in. That being said we have gotten flying mango to go many times though the years and it always traveled well. This time the brisket was dry and crumbly(see picture), and half of it was tasted like the weird pickles that I don't remember being there before. We ordered for pickup at a specific time and were there at said time for pickup. I feel like it may be was sitting. Either way that is the least of the issues the portion size was completely unacceptable for nearly 40 dollars. It weighed out at about 9oz. Completely unacceptable. My wife and I both got the brisket and both orders were equally bad. I have attached a picture of how it used to be for reference. It is easy to see the difference. It pains me to write this review. Flying Mango previously had the best brisket I have ever had. This was some of the worst.
