  Really disappointed today. On a Monday at 10:30 they are pretty much out of bagels. Staff were extremely unhelpful and frankly dismissive. Too busy to stop their inventory and help us. Almost irritated we were there. My toasted bagel was hardly toasted. I was here 3 weeks ago and had a much better experience so today was unfortunate.

  I stopped by this morning for a bagel with cream cheese. I noticed you had pumpkin bagels so I tried one. I'm pretty sure these are the best bagels ever!! Thank you

  I have never felt so uncomfortable at a business, and the overall atmosphere is the reason I left. When I walked in, the two employees were openly arguing with each other and speaking to each other in a very hostile manner. I was told to wait for another employee to help me. I stood there waiting while they continued arguing. At one point, I actually asked if I needed to come back another time. The male employee finally responded, “No, I guess I’ll help you.” This was only my second time at this location. I had previously been there after the business reopened and ordered a bagel that was not toasted, so this time I specifically asked three times for my bagel to be toasted because I wanted to make sure there was no misunderstanding. The male employee handed me a bag almost immediately, so I asked: “This is toasted?” “Yes.” “You toasted the bagel in that amount of time?” “Yes!” I opened the bag and the bagel was not toasted at all. When I pointed this out, he told me to “just throw it in the trash” and that he would make another one. At that point, I told him to forget it and left. The biggest issue, however, was the atmosphere created by the employees’ behavior toward each other and the fact that there was a man with a firearm in the office area. To be clear, this person was not law enforcement or a police officer. Seeing an armed individual in the office area while employees were openly arguing and behaving aggressively toward each other made me extremely uncomfortable. That was ultimately the main reason I decided to leave and forfeit the $11 I had spent on the bagel. I did not feel comfortable staying. I have never had an experience at a business where I felt this uncomfortable simply waiting to be helped. The bagel being wrong was frustrating, especially after I had specifically asked multiple times for it to be toasted based on my previous experience, but the employees’ behavior toward each other and the presence of a firearm were what made me leave. I will not be returning.

  I have been going to the coralville location for As long as I can remember and never have I had a bad thing to say about it until recently. I wouldn’t be writing this negative feedback if it was just one visit, but it has been several visits lately and it’s the same employee. I don’t know if she is the manager or just the one in charge, but I watched her belittle other customers and embarrass them On top of already being extremely rude. I’m not sure her name, but When I brought it up to other people who also frequent this location, they said they had Experienced similar behavior from the same employee. It Really sucks That one employee is making so many people uncomfortable. The food is great but it’s not worth coming in and getting belittled by someone over a coffee or bagel.

  Would give 0 stars if I could. Doesn’t have bagels? Extremely rude/standoffish staff, unapologetic to my friends and I who ordered our food ahead just for them to be out of bagels, and unhelpful while we were trying to find a solution. Rudely told every customer who came in that they were out of bagels urging them to leave instead of suggesting other stuff on the menu that they actually had. Will never be going to Bruegger’s Bagel at any location ever again.
