  From start to finish, poor experience. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, 1 with 2 eggs. It took excessively long because the staff was too busy talking, stocking & scrubbing the floors. We tried to confirm they were open today by calling ahead but they did not answer the phone. The bagels in the bins had no labels on them whatsoever so you would have no idea what they still had available. We took the order to go so of course once we sat down to eat them, the sandwich we ordered with 2 eggs, had 1 egg. This has happened multiple times when ordering from Brueggers - more than 1 location in this area! Both of our bagels were burnt on top (5 cheese bagel) so really not good. Whoever works the register was completely out of it - I had to repeat myself multiple times and it was truly because he just wasn't listening. It's gross to see the staff making food with bushy hair sticking out everywhere. More expensive once again - to get less than what we ordered and burnt bagels. Lastly, this location is old, run down, grungy & obviously lacks decent management. WHY would you mop the entire floor while still open? I'm done with Brueggers. None of it is like the Brueggers from many years past. You can do soooo much better.

  I came to Iowa City for a sleep study and they ended the sleep study at 330am. I hung at the hospital for a bit cause I was on the motorcycle and didn’t feel like starting the trip home in the middle of the night. Eventually I went to look for breakfast and I found this place open, and am I sure glad I did. I walked in and the manager was an absolute saint. Said I could sit in here and hang out for a bit to allow the sun time to come up. Then she made me the most amazing bagel sandwich (which I didn’t know were a thing). I will definitely come back here when I’m Iowa City, now that I know it’s here. If you get the chance, y’all owe it to yourselves to at least try it.
