  We tried to order 3 drinks and the lady at the speaker couldn't figure out how to add them to our order. She had us sitting at the speaker for a long time until we got annoyed and said to cancel our order

  food was great, but the service…. was very terrible, the girl i spoke with on the speaker was very rude, and had an attitude she was trying to rush my order. i also asked them specifically to give us napkins and we got no napkins and i paid for 3 ranch’s and i only got one. all together this experience is making me very questionable about returning to this location.

  I absolutely love Sonic but my last visit was very off-putting. I've been coming for a while and even worked at the Johnston location for several years. Last time I went to the Ankeny location, I was charged for a lot of sauces. I ordered a chicken strip meal, asked for BBQ and the order taker just rings up 3 BBQ's. I order mozzarella sticks with marinara and the order taker just rings up 2 marinara. I ask for a side of cheese and pay for that, too. The cheese, while lack luster and cold, I understand paying for. But all the other sauces? I understand charging for additional sauces but how on earth do you serve chicken and cheese sticks but charge for the sauces. When I asked my carhop, "Do the chicken and mozzarella sticks not come with sauces?" he just plainly replied no and all sauces are charged now. I'm paying $30 dollars for food, tipping the staff well and still getting charged nearly $2 for sauce. This was mind boggling and rubbed me the wrong way. Food was delicious and I know this is a wild line in the sand but I just don't think I'll ever be back after being charged for all that sauce. I didn't ask for 3 BBQ but paid for it. I didn't ask for 2 marinara but I paid for it. Just strange and upsetting.
