  Used to love sonic. I’ve had some good experiences during the afternoons. However, I just visited the Ankeny Sonic this evening and had the worst experience. I am pregnant and requested a double sonic smasher cheeseburger to ensure my patties were fully cooked through. I get home only to realize my patties were not smashed and were not cooked through in the middle of the top patty especially…The burger was also made so sloppily with ingredients I asked to be removed present on the sloppy pile of condiments and uncooked patty. I had to put the burger back together myself. The service itself was also terrible - definitely the worst I have ever had there. I ordered in the drive thru. It was raining so it was especially hard to hear the workers through the speaker box. When we got to the window we were barely greeted and got attitude when we requested the order be read back to us to ensure accuracy. The worker working the drive thru appeared to be a manager as well, he was wearing a polo. Order was read back to us with more attitude when we just wanted to make sure since the speaker box was having issues. Once the food was ready, the manager gave us the bag and said and I quote “here you go.” I tried to be polite despite the terrible experience and told him have a good evening and the window was shut in my face. Not sure if I will be returning to this Sonic if this is how the management treats customers…

  Daughter and I waited in like for 30 minutes for 3 drinks and hoped for free water. Didn’t happen. Disappointing sonic. Nice people. SLOW

  My last experience with them was not so good. I waited for 30 minutes no one came to take my order and I decided to just leave.

  I ordered no salt on fries and a grilled chicken sandwitch no lettuce on it , and the sandwitch was fried . Awful service

  The guy who served us was friendly and courteous. The food was on point. I recommend it
