Ordered food for carry out. The chicken was delicious - the spicy tenders were delightfully spicy, and the food was delicious. It was all packaged up and ready to take at the scheduled time. I will definitely be getting Coop’s again.

We love The Coop! It is our son’s FAVORITE place in Ames, and it is requested nearly daily. Everything is always fresh, and the staff is always kind and courteous.

Haha this town is easily impressed by mediocrity. Underseasoned, undercooked, and underportioned. Second visit just as disappointing as the first. Fool me twice and all that, right? The other location the combo includes a drink as well for the same price. How odd. 5 PC + LG FRY Combo pictured. Laughable.

The Coop was pretty much identical to Raising Canes. No drive through and you order at a kiosk, which I liked. The spicy chicken was in fact, spicy. You only get one sauce choice included, and extras are 60 cents each. The fries get the job done but are nothing memorable. I think that’s the one area they could improve upon to rise above Raising Canes. The lemonade was good, as well. The bathrooms were a little grody, which is why the atmosphere lost a star. Overall quick, good food and prices, and I would recommend a visit!

The coop chicken sandwich is fantastic! Definitely give it a try. A friend told me that a chicken finger place in Ames was going to open up in Marshalltown so I searched for chicken finger restaurants and this place popped up. I stopped by after work and they confirmed they were expanding to Marshalltown which is great because Marshalltown doesn't have a chicken restaurant anymore since KFC closed down. We will be coming back for sure.
