I love the food, and this was actually my first time trying this restaurant. I decided to give it a try after seeing the positive reviews online, and overall I was really enjoying my meal.
However, when I got home and started eating, I noticed a piece of hair in my food. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was mine because I have braids and didn’t want to make assumptions. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and continued eating. Unfortunately, a short time later, I found another piece of hair in my food.
As much as I enjoyed the taste of the food, finding hair in my meal twice was very disappointing and unsanitary. I wanted to bring this to your attention because I believe cleanliness and food safety are extremely important. I hope this issue can be addressed so it doesn’t happen to other customers in the future.
What also makes this difficult for me to accept is that this is not my first time eating Jamaican goat. I’ve eaten goat plenty of times from different restaurants and have never experienced finding hair in my food. So when I was told that the hair was simply from the goat, that explanation did not sit right with me.
Even if the hair did come from the goat, that still points to a quality-control issue that needs to be addressed before the food reaches customers. If this is something that has happened before, as the manager stated, then extra care should be taken during the cleaning and preparation process to ensure that hair is removed before the food is served. Customers should not have to pick multiple strands of hair out of their meal while eating.
I genuinely enjoyed the flavor of the food, but finding multiple hairs in my meal and then feeling dismissed when I called to express my concerns left me disappointed. A little accountability, empathy, and a willingness to make things right would have gone a long way.
