I had a very concerning experience at Jimmy John's on June 13, 2026, between approximately 6:50 PM and 7:15 PM.
When I entered the restaurant, I called out multiple times and received no response. I even called the restaurant's phone while standing inside the restaurant, and no one answered. While waiting, I observed frozen packets of meat thawing on the counter, sandwich meat left out, and vegetables sitting on metal preparation counters unattended.
The front counter remained completely unattended for more than 10 minutes. I left and went to another nearby restaurant. Concerned, I returned, the restaurant was still unattended. By that time, my husband and another customer who was waiting for a curbside pickup order had also become concerned.
The restaurant was open for business, but there appeared to be no employees available anywhere in the store. We repeatedly called out, called the store phone several times, and even knocked on the bathroom door trying to locate an employee. At that point, we were genuinely concerned for the safety and well-being of anyone who might be inside and were considering calling the Snellville Police Department to request a welfare check.
Finally, after my husband heard movement and called out again, a young lady came from the back of the restaurant. I informed her that we had been close to calling the police because no one had been visible or responsive for such a long period of time. She stated that she had been working on the computer in the back and did not realize anyone had entered the restaurant.
This explanation was difficult to understand because we had repeatedly called out and called the restaurant phone several times. I even called the restaurant phone while standing in front of her and asked if she was saying she could not hear it ringing from the back. She continued to insist that she had not heard anyone enter and had not heard the phone.
The lack of employee presence, unanswered phone calls, unattended customers, and food left sitting out created a very poor and concerning experience. I hope management reviews this incident and takes steps to ensure customers are acknowledged promptly, food safety standards are maintained, and the restaurant is properly staffed and supervised during operating hours.
