Housed in one of River Street's former cotton warehouses built in 1823, The Shrimp Factory is known for its shrimp! Seafood and Savannah go hand in hand, and here you'll find one of the city's tastiest options for casual, coastal dining along the thriving riverfront.
Started off a bit rocky (the lady at the hostess desk was a bit rude) but Katie B’s service made up for it times 10. From the initial drink order to us paying the check our experience was top notch. We ordered the shrimp platter (grilled) and every single item on our plate was cooked to perfection. The drinks were tasty and strong and the dessert was on point. Katie B was very helpful with her suggestions and although we were about to pay the check without ordering dessert, somehow Katie B found a way to entice us into ordering dessert and not only did we order dessert we ordered desserts. The peach cobbler was The Best and so was the banana cheesecake. This is definitely a place. I highly recommend to go to you and even though they say fried, they will grill it for you in a taste just as good if not better. Thank you, Katie B for such excellent service and making our experience memorable.

We had an amazing experience celebrating a bachelorette party with a group of 14, and Harry made it absolutely unforgettable! Managing a large group with lots of different requests and needs isn’t easy, but he handled everything with such professionalism, efficiency, and a genuinely positive attitude.
Our food came out incredibly fast, everything was delicious, and the service was seamless from start to finish. Harry was so friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone had exactly what they needed without ever making us feel rushed or forgotten. On top of that, his personality and sense of humor kept us entertained throughout the meal and added so much to the overall experience.
If you’re lucky enough to have Harry as your server, you’re in for an incredible experience. He truly went above and beyond to make our celebration special. Thank you, Harry, for making our bachelorette dinner such a fun and memorable night!

Disappointed by Service & QA — Food Saved the Meal
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
We visited The Shrimp Factory on River Street in Savannah, GA, and unfortunately, the experience started off on a rocky note.
When we first arrived, the service was quite slow just to welcome us and get our initial drink orders placed. We decided to order the crab and artichoke dip for our appetizer. When it arrived, the chips were severely overcooked—honestly, I was shocked the kitchen even let them pass quality control and leave the line.
We asked for a fresh batch of chips, which the server did bring out, but by the time they made it to our table, the dip had gone a bit cold.
On the positive side, when our main meal arrived, the food itself was actually pretty good—no complaints on the flavor or preparation there. However, given the issues with the appetizer and the slow start, I was surprised that no manager ever came by to check on our table or see how things were going.
Overall, a bit of a disappointing visit. With better front-of-house management, kitchen quality control, and quicker service, this place could be great, but our experience fell short of expectations.

This is generally our first stop after getting off the plane. Our server was Julia and she was a delight. As tourists we want to indulge in the local options. She was very knowledgeable and suggestive of the local craft beers available which we enjoyed. We ordered the shrimp po boy and the tried the shrimp burger (as recommended per Julia) both were chefs kiss! And the Mac and cheese YUM! I also purchased the seasoning for home. She also gave us some insightful information about Savannah, its history, and some great places to explore. She is a gem!

My mom and I went to this restaurant on Saturday 7/25 and instantly loved it. I recommend making reservations because it can become very busy at dinner time. I made reservations when I went, but they do walk-ins as well. The food here is fresh and delicious. The staff are awesome. The atmosphere is very cool. Mom got the angus burger and she said it was super juicy and flavorful. I got the shrimp and oysters basket with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. It was super yummy and the seafood was fresh tasting. We loved this restaurant so much that we had to go back with my dad last night. We tried their green tomatoes and they were so good. I love the sugared ham and pimento cheese on top of them. Very delicious. I got the same dish as the night before but with Mac and cheese and Savannah red rice. It was as excellent as the night before. My mom also got the same thing she did the night before. Also loved it. My dad tried the same dish I had but with coleslaw and fries. He thought it was fantastic too. The homemade sauces for the seafood are awesome. If you want a delicious bite to eat on river street with great service, come eat at the shrimp factory.
