I purchased A tropical salad paid $16.85 with tax, and received no cheese. Lettuce, mandarin oranges, two eggs, and two cucumbers, was all I received. When I called, they told me that I could come and get the cheese. They could not credit me another salad. I was very upset because I bought that salad at noon and I bought it for dinner. And by the time I got home, that’s when I realized everything was not on my salad I must say, though my salmon was good.

as a savannah native who grew up going to barnes on sundays (on whitemarsh island back then) and who is in a family who annually uses their catering services at the current waters location, i feel i have to say that something about barnes food at the present time is not right. i don’t eat barnes often but when i do it has always reliably been the same flavors and portions i was used to. whoever the new fry cook, distributor is, needs to be retrained. the chicken tenders used to be big, soft, and buttery. now the chicken is small, over brined, chewy, and tastes like a bad imitation of zaxbys. the fries used to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and now they taste like any frozen crinkle fries I can get at kroger. if spankys changed their spud / finger recipe, it would lose customers. if carey hilliards changed their popcorn shrimp recipe, you might as well not go. so why ruin the recipe for barnes claim to fame? is there new management? whatever the case, it doesn’t taste good and it isn’t even familiar. worth noting as well that we ordered extra sauce which was missed in the order.

Very bad customer service at the take out counter. Told me they were out of certain food items, failed to explain specials when I asked about them, said they don’t cut ribs anymore. So if I wanted a full rack how was that going to be served to me without cutting it up. No professionalism slouching all over the counter while taking order, uniform was dirty and torn. It was a bad experience all together. I just left and I was coming to spend at least 70 dollars, but I refuse to pay for bad customer service when Jim and Nick’s is right down the street and that remake of Johnny Harris is on the same street for better service and cheaper.

I had a very disappointing experience at Barnes Restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone. First, the customer service was terrible — and that started before I even got there. While placing my order over the phone, the employee was extremely rude, didn’t listen, and couldn’t even get my name right for the pickup order. It already felt like my business didn’t matter. As for the food, the “2 for $20” deal is a complete gimmick. The portions are small, and the quality is even worse. The food was cold, old, and honestly just nasty. The shrimp were not cleaned or deveined properly, which is completely unacceptable. I ordered a side of macaroni just to try it, and what I received was shocking — it looked like crumbs scraped from the bottom of the pan. It was dry, old, and clearly shouldn’t have been served to anyone. I did request a refund for the macaroni and got it, but I regret not asking for a refund for the entire order. My boyfriend’s burger was just as bad — smashed, sloppy, and thrown together with no care at all. Overall, this was a horrible experience from start to finish. Poor customer service, low-quality food, and no attention to detail. I will definitely not be returning.
