The restaurant looked amazing, but unfortunately that’s where the positive experience ended. I am allergic to cilantro, so I specifically requested that my meal be prepared with no cilantro. When the food arrived, it was covered in cilantro. Mistakes happen, so I politely informed our waitress, Griselda, about the issue. She seemed visibly annoyed, but I remained understanding since errors can occur. What concerned me most was watching the kitchen staff simply remove the cilantro from the dish and attempt to serve the same plate back to me. When I asked Griselda if they had only removed the cilantro, she confirmed that they had. I then had to explain again that this was an allergy issue, not just a preference. At that point, she became even more frustrated and took the plate away. My husband and I decided it was best to ask for the bill and leave. We paid in full, including for the untouched food, because we were not looking for anything for free. I’m sharing this experience because food allergies should always be taken seriously, and no customer should feel dismissed or treated poorly when raising a legitimate health concern.

The server was very sweet, but somewhat absent. We still got everything we needed, however. My burrito was large, and I took half home. It was fine. Not much flavor. Was hoping it would "pop" a bit, maybe drizzle cheese on it or something? But, again, it was fine. My friend had a sandwich, which she thought was just okay. She chose not to take the rest home. My wife said hers was just "okay" as well. Hate to hate on them. A lot of people enjoy this place. However, I've never been served corn chips as a side at a Mexican restaurant... I thought that was strange, since I just spent the first ten minutes filling up on corn chips and salsa beforehand. Why would they give you chips on the side of your meal when the table is already full of chips? Makes no sense to me. I understand the burrito is full of, like, everything, but there's got to be *something* else you can serve as a side besides what I've already filled up on. At the end, the waitress did all the calculating and itemizing of our bill on a small computer device she brought over to the table. When she was done, she showed me the screen. It showed the total and options to tip. I was unable to look at what I was paying for. No itemization to review, just the final amount and amounts for tipping (starting at 15%). I ended up over-tipping, not realizing 15% was *already* applied to the bill. To be fair, the menu did say parties of 5 or more will have 15% added to their final bill. I figured since we were two separate parties, it wouldn't apply to us (two separate bills), so I take responsibility for not realizing they count *everyone* at the table as a single party, and therefore the 15% gets added to each bill. I left with a bad taste in my mouth - not because of the food, but because it seemed they purposefully hid the itemization when tallying up the bill so I wouldn't see the 15% added. I tipped like I normally tip (which is typically generous), but she walked away with another 15% on top of my tip! I find this practice a bit unethical. But I kept this review at 3 stars and not 2 because, again, I take responsibility for not being more proactive, like not asking to see the itemization and not realizing that our two parties were considered a party of 5 or more. I'm used to looking at an itemized bill on the screen to see exactly what I'm paying for, which is why I find it sketchy that they only show you the total and the tip screen, no individual items. It's just not cool. That one factor alone made me not want to return. The good: The atmosphere is really cool. The food is decent, but not highly flavorful (though the barbacoa was plenty flavorful). The service, at least at the time we went, was okay. The not-so-good: Not a transparent bill (you will have to ask for itemization, which will make you look and feel like a cheapskate) and, to a lesser extent, semi-long wait times between the server returning to the table.
