  Yesterday 8/13/26 around 10:30 PM I had an unusual interaction with an employee named Conrad. I understand wanting to verify DoorDash orders because of theft, and I had no issue confirming the order. What was frustrating was how unnecessarily difficult and uncomfortable the interaction became. I was picking up through the drive-thru, and the employee (Conrad) kept the order inside the window, holding it against his chest with both hands instead of extending it toward my car so I could scan the receipt. I explained that I needed to scan the name and couldn’t simply take a picture. Conrad responded “Right. You can see the name” with his lips tightened like his life depends on this burger. I ended up having to reach my arm all the way out of my car just to scan it. Even after I confirmed the order, he kept going on about why he couldn’t hand it to me without confirmation. I literally had to tell him to give me the order because the confirmation had already been completed and I didn’t want to be late delivering. I also have to be honest about how the interaction made me feel. As a Black woman, being treated with that level of suspicion over a $10 burger naturally made me feel profiled, like the assumption was “yep she definitely steals.” I can’t say what his intentions were, but that was the impression his behavior gave me. He wouldn’t even extend the bag an INCH outside the window so I could scan the receipt, as if I was going to snatch a LOUSY burger, put my car in drive, and take off. That was absolutely absurd! I completely understand preventing theft, but there is a way to verify an order without making a customer or delivery driver feel like they’re being treated as a potential thief. The interaction was unnecessarily prolonged and could have been handled much more professionally.

  When I pushed the red button, no one answered, despite pushing and waiting three times. I finally ordered through the app. The food came 15 minutes after the predicted time. It seemed they were doing their best but understaffed.

  Absolute worst sonic location I’ve ever experienced… orders are always wrong. Decent customer service in the window today but overall this place is bad. I grew up going to sonic and this location has ruined it for me.
