The left side is the 'regular' Chick-fil-A but with an extended menu (I got fried okra!). The right side is a nod to the original Dwarf Restaurant that Mr Truett began before Chick-fil-A was a thing. It's full service with a Southern menu, including breakfast all day. The greeter at the door told me there are only a few of these in Georgia and each one has their own menu.

- LBLaura BogolinSep 1, 20265.0I need to give the BIGGEST shout-out to the Truett’s Chick-fil-A dine-in team today. ❤️🐄 My son and I were already having a ROUGH day when we walked through those doors. We had just left an audiology appointment that the school system set up for him, and unfortunately the appointment did not go well. My son has autism and really struggles with having his ears touched, which the school system was aware of because we’ve already attempted this testing before. I actually tried to cancel today’s appointment because we’d had a rough night and were both exhausted, but I was encouraged to go ahead since the provider was only there today. It was just… a lot…turns out she did not have the experience needed in autism for it to be a successful session. By the time we left, I sat in the car and had myself a full crying session. 😭 Once I pulled myself together, I decided we deserved a late Chick-fil-A lunch to hopefully turn our day around. And THAT is where this story gets going. From the moment we were there, the staff was so sweet to my son. He was his usual cute, happy little self and everybody was loving on him. Then he finished eating before me. And apparently decided his new full-time occupation was pressing the train button every 2 seconds. 😂 Our waitress saw me trying to finish my food and actually asked, “Can I take him to press the button while you finish eating?” MA’AM. YES. QUEEN. PLEASE. 😭😂 Of course, my child had other plans. He pressed the button and then TOOK OFF across the restaurant on this poor woman. TWICE. And by God, she kept up with him. 😂 I felt terrible and finally said, “I’ll take him, I’m so sorry!” Then we entered full-blown meltdown territory. Another staff member brought him a book, which helped for a minute. Then we were right back at it, and at this point I’m basically begging this child to give me TWO SECONDS to pack our food so we can leave these poor people alone. 😂 I managed to pack about half of it one-handed and decided, “You know what? GOOD ENOUGH. WE’RE LEAVING.” Except… THE CHILD HAD LOST MY BILL. 😭😂 So now I have to ask for another bill while he is still melting down. The manager comes over with a little cow, and THANK GOD, it works. The manager starts mooing at him… And my son? BARKS BACK. 😂😂😂 So now they’re having a full cow/dog conversation while I’m desperately trying to finish paying and get us out the door. Then he escapes me AGAIN. WITHOUT HIS SHOES. So now I’m yelling, “WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES?!” I turn around… AND THE MANAGER IS ON THE FLOOR LOOKING UNDER THE BOOTH FOR MY CHILD’S SHOES. 😭😭😭 At that point all I could say was, “God bless you and your family,” because HOW he managed to get those shoes that far under the booth, I will never know. But seriously to every single person working the dine-in side of Truett’s Chick-fil-A today: THANK YOU. Not one person made me feel embarrassed. Not one person acted annoyed. Not one person made my son feel like he was a problem. Everyone stayed kind, calm, patient, and just kept finding little ways to help a very overwhelmed mama get through lunch and get her baby safely back to the car. What probably felt like small gestures to y’all were HUGE to me today. You didn’t know what kind of morning we had before we walked through those doors. You didn’t know I had already cried my eyes out in the car before deciding to come inside. You just saw a mom who needed a little help and a little boy who was having a hard time and you helped us without judgment. And yes, I absolutely cried my eyes out AGAIN when I got back to the car. 😭❤️ There are days as a special-needs parent when a little bit of kindness from complete strangers means more than they will ever realize. Today was one of those days. Thank you, Truett’s Chick-fil-A team, for being the bright spot in an otherwise really hard day. ❤️🐄 And to the waitress who volunteered herself for train-button duty and then unexpectedly participated in cardio day chasing my child across the restaurant… You deserve a RAISE. 😂❤️
