First time I ever sent food back and didn’t ask for anything else. I unfortunately experienced this place once and will NEVER return. We are new to the area and I was told this is one of best places for a seafood lover. I took my fiance here to celebrate birthday and anniversary. I made the reservation for 6:15pm and was not seated at our table until 6:35pm. After 10 minutes of waiting at the table to be acknowledged, who was supposed to be our server Rocky, comes over to tell us that the server behind us will be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes goes by our new server Zernovia comes over to bring menus and to start with the order. We get two waters to start and gator bites and a life’s a peach. After checking the ID there was no acknowledgment of his birthday, and no anniversary as I told her what we were celebrating. I understand it was a Saturday night and they were busy but all those that came after us were getting quicker service. She comes back with water which was disgusting. It tasted like tap, Dasani, and sprite. lol no biggie, I walked back to the car to get the Stanley cups we always have with us. The app arrived while I was getting the water. They were good. Fast forward to 7:27 we finally got our appetizer but still no drink. I let our server know the drink was still missing she said I’ll go check. In the mean time I tried what I order which was the catfish filets and fries with a side of garlic bread. I never received my garlic bread and the catfish was sooooooooo bland. At that point I wasn’t even hungry anymore. 7:42 his drink finally arrived and his shrimp Alfredo was just as bland. I sent the catfish back. At that point is when Zernoiva became extra attentive and concern. It wasn’t needed anymore thanks for your time. I gave what tip was deserved. Maybe we made the mistake of going during a weekend dinner rush, but everyone else around us seemed to had a better experience than we did. Lesson learned. At least the food LOOKED good. Service was bad, energy was bad, and food was bland. No thank you.

My wife and I haven’t gone on a date for over 6 months. We were exited for I finally enjoy the night and we arrived at pappadeaux at 8:50p. It’s busy as usual, my wife and I went to the bar to wait for a seat. We waited for nearly 45 mins and a couple was about to leave. So I posted by there seat. All of a sudden the bartender said that the sit is reserved for couple that came in after us. I’m not racist but the couple are white and my wife and I are black. I’ve never experienced white privilege but that definitely was one. I was disgusted as if my money and time was worthless. Bartenders cannot reserved sit for anyone. It’s almost always first come first served. We left. You have to do better manager. Just sad.

I am very disappointed with the service I received at Pappadeaux’s Windy Hill location. I placed my to-go order by phone at 5:12 PM and immediately received a text stating that my order would be ready at 5:34 PM. When I arrived, I followed the instructions and texted that I was parked in my designated spot. I waited until approximately 6:00 PM before finally calling the restaurant because no one had brought my order out. I want to be fair and acknowledge that the weather was bad and the restaurant appeared to be busy, so I tried to extend some grace and patience. However, after calling, I was placed on hold for another five minutes before someone finally told me that I needed to drive over near the wooden steps to receive my food. Once I drove over, I had to ask employees passing by about my order. Eventually, a young lady asked for my name and confirmed that the to-go orders she was carrying included mine. Unfortunately, when I received it, the container was broken and the food was cold. Based on the original 5:34 PM ready time, my seafood order had apparently been sitting for nearly an hour. I asked to speak with a manager because, beyond the inconvenience, I was concerned about the food having been sitting for that length of time. The young lady returned and told me that the manager said I could simply have the food without paying for it because they were very busy. While I appreciate the gesture, that did not address my concern. I did not want complimentary food that had been sitting for nearly an hour, especially seafood. I again requested to speak with the manager, but no manager ever came out to speak with me. At that point, after waiting nearly an hour, receiving cold food in a damaged container, and being unable to speak directly with management, I decided to leave. I understand that restaurants have extremely busy evenings and that the rain may have made operations more difficult. I believe I was very patient and understanding of those circumstances. However, this situation could have been handled much differently. A simple update about the delay, clear instructions regarding where to pick up the order, fresh food being prepared once the problem was discovered, and a manager taking a moment to speak with me would have made a significant difference. My disappointment is not simply that the restaurant was busy. It is how the situation was handled once it became clear that my order had been overlooked.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience. Upon arriving, I learned that all of the menu items I had originally planned to order were unavailable. I chose an alternative, only to discover that the fish was served raw. While the staff did offer to prepare another meal, my confidence in the food had already been shaken. After being served raw fish, I was no longer comfortable eating there. This was especially frustrating because I had driven three hours specifically to dine at this restaurant. Instead of enjoying the experience with the rest of my party, I was left without a meal while they finished theirs. To make matters worse, I then faced a six-hour drive home and had to stop elsewhere for food. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately, it is not one I plan to repeat. I will not be returning.

Overall most of the food was good and the service was acceptable. My main complaint is with the most expensive dish that I ordered which was the Filet Oscar. I generally only eat filet when I have steak and this was by far the worst cut that I’ve had. I even question if the cut I received was actually filet. It’s advertised as 10 ounces but it was much smaller than that and much of the steak was separated and not a full cut. I was told that for the filet Oscar they use a horseshoe cut (which I’m familiar with) but the fat content was similar to a ribeye with a disproportionate amount of the steak being uneatable. I’ve never had a filet where fat needed to be cut away from the steak. I did speak with my waitress and the manager, but it was only greeted with the explanation that it’s just how they cut their steak. Needless to say it was a disappointing experience based on the quality of the meat and the response from the staff. No problem. I graciously paid my tab and tipped the customary 20% but I won’t visit again.
