- SKslips kSep 15, 20261.0This is now the second time I have had an extremely unpleasant experience with the manager, Kayla Mackey, at the Greensboro Dunkin’. Both times, the issue has been the way I was spoken to. Today, while an employee was taking my order at the drive-thru, Kayla abruptly came over the speaker and loudly interrupted the employee to announce that she would not put cold foam on iced coffee drinks. If that is the store’s policy, I can respect that. What I cannot respect is the rude and disrespectful way it was communicated. I have never experienced customer service this verbally disrespectful at a coffee shop. I did not yell, argue, or get ugly with her either time. I was simply trying to start my morning and place an order. As a side note, the surrounding coffee establishments are more than willing to customize drinks to order, which is part of what makes businesses stand out. Again, I understand that every business has its own policies. The problem is not being told “no.” The problem is being yelled at and spoken to disrespectfully over something as simple as a coffee order. It is also disrespectful to the employees when a manager interrupts and talks over them while they are assisting customers. There is a difference between being a manager and making sure everyone knows you are the manager. Good leadership should mean treating both customers and employees with professionalism and respect. I’m not leaving this review because I didn’t get something I wanted. I’m leaving it because of how I was treated. Customers should be able to place an order without being yelled at or made to feel like they have done something wrong. I hope someone above the store level takes this feedback seriously, because this type of interaction should not be acceptable customer service.
