Every dish was packed with flavor and had that perfect balance of comfort food with a creative, delightful twist. You can tell a lot of thought goes into every item on the menu. Our server, Isaac, made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and provided exceptional service without ever making us feel rushed. It’s always refreshing to have a server who genuinely enjoys taking care of their guests. If you’re looking for a great meal and outstanding service in Gainesville, I can’t recommend Recess enough. It’s definitely a 10 out of 10, and we’ll absolutely be back!

Everyone at the bar seemed to know each other, and to be having a great time! Our waitress was informative and personable! The food was delicious and was served in a very reasonable time. The drinks were excellent! We will definitely be back!!

The fried pickles were seasoned perfectly. Our friends loved the bacon wrapped dates. We also had the duck confit eggrolls and they were delicious. I had the Parmesan Chicken and it was cooked perfectly. Tons of flavor. My husband had the hush puppy coated redfish over Gouda grits and said it was excellent. The only negative is that as it filled up it got so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. But still would recommend without a doubt!
