Northern China Eatery is a MUST if you’re in Atlanta 🥟✨
The soup dumplings are my absolute favorite—always flavorful and perfectly made every time 🤤🔥
Casual spot, amazing food, and super consistent. I’ll definitely be back (and need to try their Beltline location next 👀)

We have come here before and enjoyed specific items. This time around, we ordered our usual except we included wonton soup and Chicken in garlic sauce. HOLY HELL! The wonton soup was pretty good, except she assumed it was for two (my husband ordered it just for himself). You could have gotten 4 servings out of what they gave us. Then the chicken came....it tasted like chicken in warm ketchup. I'll say it again.... chicken in WARM KETCHUP. We could not find one piece of garlic in the "sauce". When we asked the server, she repeated the name of the dish, pointed at it and told us it was sweet and sour sauce. When I asked them "why, is it called chicken in garlic sauce?" "it tastes like ketchup." She repeated the part about the ketchup then told us it's chicken in garlic sauce, and walked away. We are still unclear as to what had happened. No matter what, please enjoy the photo and know that if you order the chicken in garlic sauce, you're really going to get Chicken in Warm Ketchup Sauce. Good luck and enjoy!
Worst meal ever. Ordered Zhajiang mian, steamed handmade dumplings and shredded pork in plum sauce.Zhajiang means fried sauce. The bean sauce is supposed to be fried until it is fragrant and intensely flavored. What was served was a sauce that was stirred with a few pieces of pork. The sauce was bland and inedible. The "handmade" noodles was mushy and had zero chew -- the result of bad technique and leftover dough. The dish was unpalatable. While my biggest pet peeve is to add seasoning as it is the chef's job to season the food -- the noodles was so inedible that we had to pour soy sauce on it -- to no salvation. There is no hint of bean sauce -- just some diluted stir fry sauce. The shredded pork in plum sauce tasted the same as the noodle sauce -- one note -- just some soy sauce with bean sauce -- no taste of plum sauce at all. The pork was not velveteened so it was dry and tough. The dumplings' dough had zero chew factor. We have been to this restaurant prior to them being featured and ever since, we have noticed the deterioration -- now to the point where it is inedible. When we looked around, we noted that Asians no longer frequent this place. Is it due to the unauthentic taste that is prevalent now?
They were featured many, many years ago -- when there wasn't as much competition. Such isn't the case anymore. The food court in Chinatown Pavillion has better quality shredded pork in plum sauce, noodles, and dumplings for almost half the price here. They have increased their prices way too much -- it would be justifiable if the food tasted good. On the bottom of your tab, you will also see a 2.99% surcharge due to "rising" costs. Service was non-existent -- they never checked on us after the food was dropped. As we couldn't get the attention of anyone, I had to go up to the counter to ask for sauce dishes so we could mix soy sauce, vinegar and chili oil in order to eat dumplings. Won't be back
