  Our new favorite for Mexican food ! We drove 40 miles to eat here and it was money well spent. They started us with the best chips and salsa I've ever had. Their take on guacamole was over the top. I had the burrito with BBQ pork. That was THE best burrito ever. My wife enjoyed the Street Corn. The food came fast. The server was relaxed and polite. The seating was extremely spacious. The servings of every order were HUGE and could easily be shared. All-in-all... a delightful meal in a wonderful venue.

  I can honestly say this was one of the best Mexican food experiences I’ve had in a very long time. The food was absolutely incredible — the tacos were packed with flavor to the point that I didn’t even need to ask for extra sauces, salsa, or hot sauce because everything was already perfectly seasoned and delicious on its own. Every bite tasted authentic, fresh, and made with care. The service was just as amazing as the food. Even though they were busy, the staff made me feel like a VIP from the moment I walked in. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and efficient, and I barely had to wait for my food. The owner even came over personally to introduce himself and ask how everything was, which made the entire experience feel so warm and genuine. I truly felt at home. I’m extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food because I grew up around many people I consider family who make authentic Mexican cuisine, and words can’t explain how much I enjoyed the food. Between the incredible food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the outstanding hospitality, I will absolutely be traveling back to Clayton just to experience it again.

  This is the second time I have been in this place and I have to say it might be one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. Located in the mountain town of Clayton, Ga it is a must for anyone coming through that loves Mexican food. We had the Chicken Tinga Tacos and the shrimp Tacos and they were excellent. It is located on Savannah street on the west side of Main.

  After traveling to Mexico and very familiar with authentic high end Mexican cuisine… I can truly say this was a 5 star experience! Interior decor, friendly professional staff, menu choices and presentation all outstanding! Food was possibly the best I have ever had to date! What a gem 💎 for Clayton, GA. On our regular visits from SW FL we will make this one of our top favorites!

  If you’ve ever been to Hush Cuban Cafe, then you already know the level of food we’re dealing with. So when I heard they opened Frida Taqueria & Cantina in Clayton, I had to check it out...and it absolutely delivered. First thing you’ll notice is this isn’t your typical Mexican restaurant. The menu is fresh, creative, and just a little different in a really good way. I started with the chips and salsa, and right away you can tell they’re doing things differently. The chips are thicker, super crispy, and they come with a fresh salsa verde instead of the usual red. Paired that with a Coke Zero and I was already off to a strong start. Tried the Mexican hush puppies (which I’ve never had before), and honestly… you need to order these. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and that sauce they come with takes them to another level. The flautas were one of the most flavorful dishes I had... crispy, well seasoned, and just packed with flavor. The barbacoa tacos come four to an order, loaded with meat, and served on double tortillas with all the right toppings. Very filling and very well done. But the standout for me was the cheesy shell carnitas tacos (Gringa tacos). The tortilla is cooked with cheese, so you get this crispy, cheesy outer layer with super tender carnitas inside. Easily my favorite bite of the day. I also tried the steak quesadilla (ribeye), and it was exactly what you want... perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and loaded with that melty cheese (tastes like Oaxaca or Chihuahua style). Really solid. Service was excellent... shoutout to Gabriel. He walked me through the menu, made great recommendations, and genuinely made the experience better. The space itself is clean, modern, and spacious, with a bar area and outdoor patio seating available. Only thing to note is parking can be a little tight up front, especially when it’s busy, but there’s additional parking around the building if you look for it. Overall, this is a great addition to Clayton and definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
