Very disappointing experience. Several of the young employees were standing around goofing off, looking at their phones instead of helping customers. One employee was even wearing AirPods while working, which looked very unprofessional. Meanwhile, what appeared to be the owner or manager was doing everything he could to keep things running and trying to get the staff under control. To make matters worse, our order was made incorrectly. After reading the Google reviews, it’s clear this location has been receiving the same complaints for a long time, yet nothing seems to have changed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this Dairy Queen. I hope management is able to address these ongoing issues and improve the customer service.

Every six months or so, I convince myself to give this Dairy Queen another chance for a quick Blizzard or ice cream. Apparently, that's about the length of time it takes me to forget the previous visit. Unfortunately, nothing ever changes. The restaurant is consistently dirty, poorly managed, and the staff just feels like a bunch of high school kids goofing off. To be fair, the Blizzards themselves were good. But when mine was handed to me, the employee had melted ice cream dripping down his hands, so the cup was sticky before I even left the counter. About a year ago, when they repaved the parking lot and added a drive-thru, I thought, "Maybe they're finally giving this place a fresh start." Nope. Pretty sure they stopped at the parking lot. The inside is exactly the same as it's always been. I keep hoping the next visit will be different, but I think this was my last attempt.

I AM PISSED… my friend and I came in.. they appeared to be open and serving customers.. I got up to the register to order a small onion ring and as i put my card in to pay after they’ve gave me my total btw.. an aggressive woman from the kitchen staff starts yelling that the kitchen is closed over and over… I work in customer service and understand that they may not have been able to take anymore orders.. but i did not appreciate being yelled at and them waiting til i was literally paying to tell me… then they said that we could still order ice cream.. so my friend orders a pecan cluster and once again as she’s paying a woman from the back emerges and yells that they can’t take anymore orders then yells “I can’t do another one” and the cashier tried to convince to stay that she would get us the ice cream but we just left becuase the staff was just unbelievably rude.. they could have easily told us politely that they couldn’t take anymore orders.. but instead made us so uncomfortable to the point we were ready to drive all the way to sylva dairy queen to get good service.

⭐ Out of 5 stars: Are the employees okay? No, seriously. If you are looking for a quiet family dinner where the staff behaves like functioning human beings, you might want to drive right past the Clayton Dairy Queen and keep on going. I took my nieces and nephews here for dinner, and apparently, our presence was the funniest comedic act to ever hit North Georgia. The two geniuses working the front counter literally could not stop laughing while the kids were trying to order. Not a chuckle. Continuous, breathless hysterics. I didn't realize ordering a chicken strip basket required a comedy license, but okay. Hoping to escape the bizarre, unprovoked mockery, we retreated to the absolute furthest corner of the dining room. But the entertainment didn't stop there! I looked up only to see the male staff member physically jumping up and down like he was on a trampoline, trying to peer over the divider wall at us. Then he pretended to check the trash cans just to stare and laugh some more. It got so intensely uncomfortable and awkward that we packed up our food and went to sit outside. Did that stop them? Of course not. They started making special trips past the windows just to gawk at us outside and burst into more fits of laughter. It was easily the most inappropriate, deeply weird fast-food experience I’ve ever had. It wasn't just us, either, other patrons in the lobby were actively watching them and commenting on how completely unhinged and unprofessional the behavior was. I don’t know what was in the air (or the blizzards) during our visit, but unless management plans on replacing the counter staff with people who don't treat paying customers like a circus exhibit, save yourself the second-hand embarrassment and eat elsewhere. Hopefully, this gets the point across to management!
