I don’t like to complain on food industry workers. I’m a GM in the food industry myself. I usually blow it off. I was always ordering from this Panera, placing big orders. It was when I signed up for the slip club when I started to see the problems. I got rid of the slip club, because no one was around to give out my cup, or the staff in the kitchen would make it seem like a nuisance. After months finally gave it in, my family wanted Panera. I was hoping things would be better. I placed my order with it saying it would be ready at 6:20. I got a message at 6:23 saying it was ready. I went in to pick up my order but there wasn’t a bag, so I sat and waited. There were no employees upfront for at least 10 minutes. Finally, the front counter girl walked out from the back. She just looked at me and went to work. I stood up and walked to the kitchen area and waited. The guy with long hair walks by and just says “Just on time”. Doesn't speck to me, I walk to the counter to wait more. The girl looks at me from the back I tell her “Hi, I’m here for a pick up order.” She goes to the back and I hear the kitchen staff laughing with the front counter girl. She comes back and tells me they are waiting on Asiago bangles to cook. I tell her “Ok, I was Confused” my order said (ready for pick up). I wouldn’t even care about waiting, it was the fact no one cared about helping, explaining, and the atmosphere they were creating. Finally they said my order was ready, I went to grab my bag….As I was walking away, the kitchen staff start laughing at me. I turned around and asked the main guy for his name (Jonathan). I asked the other employee who her name was she said it was (Samantha). This whole thing upset me, coming from someone who works in the food industry, and understands what most food industry works go through. I was so beyond upset I walked to the front counter asking for cards. I have never done that before, the front counter girl goes to get her manager. The manager was very polite and tried to help me at least.I felt like I was disrupting the customer trying to order at the front counter. I really just wanted a card too complain, because I couldn’t find In the app on how to rate my experience. Jonathan and Samantha have been there for awhile, this wasn’t the first time they’ve made me uncomfortable. How many customers have they made uncomfortable? I think higher-ups might wanna have a sit down with Jonathan and Samantha. They really need to understand how important it is to properly represent the business. Being a GM myself I would not allow my team to act that way. I would coach my team to check on customers or be more present to help customers. Laughing at and ridiculing your customers because they’re waiting on an order that says ready for pick up 10 minutes ago was highly unprofessional. I didn’t even trust the food I received, $30+ down the drain. Not interested in eating someone else’s spit. I will drive out to acworth or Kennesaw next time for Panera. This was the last time I will ever go to the Cartersville location.
