My teenage son loves getting food delivered from Wayback Burgers, but I’d never had it so we decided to stop in for lunch and give the dine-in experience a try.
When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t busy. The employee at the front counter was friendly enough, but it was apparent he wasn’t very familiar with the menu. Several items were unavailable, but we weren’t too concerned and went ahead with our order.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. Two of the three meals we ordered were incorrect and missing items. We also ordered milkshakes, but they weren’t prepared until long after we had finished eating. I eventually had to check on them to make sure they hadn’t been forgotten. When they finally arrived, they were missing whipped cream because the restaurant was out of that as well.
What was even more frustrating was that the restaurant seemed unprepared for basic customer needs. There were no straws available for the milkshakes, no napkins stocked, and several other essentials appeared to be missing. As our visit continued, the restaurant became noticeably busier, which seemed to overwhelm the staff.
What stood out most was the apparent lack of management or adult supervision. The restaurant wasn’t well stocked, tables and common areas needed attention, and overall operations seemed disorganized. It felt like the staff had been left without the guidance or support needed to keep things running smoothly.
It’s disappointing because some of the menu items are good and my son enjoys it through delivery. However, maintaining quality, proper inventory, cleanliness, and staff training are all important parts of running a successful restaurant. Hopefully management takes the initiative to address these issues, because the customer experience currently doesn’t match the potential of the brand.
For me, it’s a pass. There are too many other places competing for my business (many within steps of this place) to spend money on a restaurant that can’t consistently get orders right, keep basic items in stock, or maintain a clean and organized environment. I won’t be spending my money here again.

The Dubai milkshake was delicious, once you mix in the pistachio syrup from the bottom. We love to support locally owned & operated businesses. However, the Cheeeesy was too greasy, and the Ceasar salad with grilled chicken was basically a nest of iceberg lettuce strips, croutons, and seven pieces of grill chicken. The Caesar dressing was tasty, though. Service was a little slow, but the staff we interacted with, were very pleasant.
