If you are looking for more elevated dining and exceptional service, check out Twisted Tomato in Blue Ridge. The service is pleasant and informative. The atmosphere is upscale on the inside and casual dining on the covered porch that overlooks downtown Blue Ridge. The menu has many options and everything is made in house which makes this place distinct. We tried a big assortment and were pleased with everything. I recommend the cheese sticks, any pizza (they have a wood fire oven), and the ribeye. The ribeye had to be one of the most tender cuts I've had. They also have a pretty expansive drink menu - try the milk stout!

The first time in all my 15.5 years of being a special needs mom. We were turned away at a restaurant. We were denied entry into the Twisted Tomato in downtown Blue Ridge, GA. I was giving Jacob human guide while he was using his white cane. John was holding Matthew’s hand as Matthew was skipping and stemming. As we approached the young hostess, she immediately said that they were short staffed and had a 90 minute wait. We looked around, there were empty seats, all patrons seemingly happily eating, other families with small children dining and everyone dressed casually. There wasn’t a line or people sitting and waiting. She told us there were other family friendly restaurants that would be more accommodating and not too far of a walk away. Then smiled and said “Sorry”. I am quite certain we were turned away for having special needs kids. I’m outraged, appalled and stunned. I have words, but they will be for the manager and better business bureau. I didn’t cause a scene, as my kids deserve dignity.

Went with a friend for her birthday lunch. Shared a pizza and she had 2 glasses of wine and I had a beer. The pizza was ok, nothing I would order again. Beer was good. It was expensive for what we got I thought but everything is expensive these days so I never looked that closely at the receipt. Paid the bill and left a tip. Later I looked at the receipt to find not only was I charged a convenience fee for using my card but also charged a 20% gratuity for “Large party”. I guess two people are a large party. Anyway the bartender got a nice tip and I won’t go back again. The restaurant shouldn’t decide my tip, It’s my decision based on the service.

Their menu is extensive. Pricing ranges in the mid/high range but quality is there. Our pizza was delicious but difficult to separate slices. Server told cook and he said he discovered his slicer was dull. They offered to replace it but we only had intended to let him know. Lots of variety known the pizza list and the appetizers and main menu items had many great sounding choices. Likely can go wrong here. Our server, Constance, made the day all the better. She sealed the deal. Thank you We don’t get through Blue Ridge often but this is the place to start

Atmosphere: Was great, 5 starts all day long! There was plenty of room between the tables, typical ambient restaurant noise was minimal and we could easily have a conversation. It felt upscale but not pretentious. Also, the background music was fantastic and at perfect volume. Food: We had the Bruschetta Antipasti and it was good but only 4 small crostini which wasn't nearly enough for the plate. (There was also a hair in but we didn't say anything but we probably should have let them know.) For dinner we had spaghetti and meatballs which was average at best, and the Salmon Picatta which was also mid and we didn't bother to take home the leftovers. All this being said, the service and atmosphere were so enjoyable that we plan to go back and try again. We want to love this place so I hope the food is better (and hair-free) next time.
