I had such a great experience at Chef Rob’s Cafe! The food was absolutely delicious, flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was welcoming, and everything made for a really enjoyable dining experience.
A huge shoutout to our server, Erika! She was amazing from start to finish, friendly, attentive, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. Her service truly made the experience even better.
I would definitely recommend Chef Rob’s Cafe to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. Be sure to ask for Erika if you go there you won’t be disappointed!
This place was a complete waste of money. I ordered the snapper, and my friend ordered the combination oxtails and curry goat. Unfortunately, neither meal was worth what we paid.
My snapper was undercooked, which is completely unacceptable, especially when serving fish. The curry goat was bland and lacked the rich seasoning and flavor you expect from Caribbean food. Overall, the food was extremely disappointing.
There was also no real Caribbean vibe or atmosphere. Between the disappointing food, lack of atmosphere, and terrible customer service, the entire experience fell flat.
For a restaurant serving Caribbean food, I expected flavorful, properly cooked food and at least some level of Caribbean hospitality. We got neither.
This place was a joke from beginning to end, and I definitely would not return.

I ordered the jerk chicken with dark meat only, but they gave me all white meat and said they didn’t have dark meat available. If something a customer specifically orders isn’t available, they should be informed rather than simply being given something else.
But the biggest disappointment was the food itself. The jerk chicken was extremely salty—so salty that it overpowered the flavor of the chicken and jerk seasoning. The coco bread was also stale and definitely did not taste fresh. The restaurant is very small and had a strong hookah/smoke smell, which made the atmosphere unpleasant.
Overall, the food quality simply wasn’t worth the money. There are far better Caribbean/Jamaican options in the area with flavorful food that isn’t overloaded with salt. I would not return.
FYI: I’m Jamaican, born and raised. 🤮

Visited this place for the first time with my wife. I had the combination protein meal which cones with 2 sides for $40. I choose Oxtail, Jerk Chicken Rice & peas and Mac & cheese. My wife had the Jerk turkey burger that came with fries think it was about $20ish. My oxtail was real good, mac and cheese good, rice and peas I was ok with but unfortunately while jerk chicken had good flavor I did find it way too salty. I should add that portion size was decent but with my combination plate I feel maybe a bigger size plate might have made presentation more appealing and easier to navigate through the meal.
I had a taste of my wife's jerk turkey burger which was probably the best turkey burger I have evee tasted and very well presented on the plate.
As there seemed to have had a special Jamaica Emancipation day event going on so was very busy I won't comment customer service much but our server was friendly and attentive.
One thing that did spoil the occassion was the hookah pipe use and reason for my low overall score as we were seated in the smaller back section of restaurant where 3 of the approx 7 tables did have hookah pipes in use which affecting my wife and spoilt the overall experience. We were not see on website or made aware that Hookah pipes was used at the restaurant. I would like to suggest that you on website it is advised and maybe keep use of hookah to back room and give customers a choice if they are ok with it or not so they can make a informed decision of section they wish to sit in.

This review is strictly about the service of the disgruntled employees. The food is really good although occasionally they will not honor the requests of a takeout order which is very frustrating (I ordered non spicy pasta with extra cheese, and it was so extremely spicy without any extra cheese that they charge you extra for).
My main issue is the service! The employees need some serious training. They are consistently rude and dismissive. They are always ready for a clap back moment, even if your question/statement isn’t said as if they did something wrong. For example, I ordered coconut rice with oxtail gravy. If you order on door dash, they give you the option for the gravy to be on the side, but they don’t give the option on the side on the businesses website. Once I saw my order came out, I was asking if they added gravy to the rice. The woman “assisting” me says “yes, I made sure it was on there” in a not so nice tone, but I proceeded to say “okay I was just wondering because I actually wanted on the side but…” at no time did I say she was wrong (because she wasn’t), but she decides to get defensive before I could even finish my statement, pick up the receipt, and read (rudely) “it says gravy ON the rice” I just looked at her and said “it’s fine” because it really was okay and had I known she was going to take offense like that I wouldn’t have said anything. I don’t mind her making a statement, but her tone was just too much when it was clear that I wasn’t saying she was wrong.
Mind you I was already irritated with her because when I initially walked in to tell her my name for pick up and she looks at an order already on the counter, the phone rings and instead of putting them on a brief (less than 10 second) hold, she decides to talk for almost 5 minutes while I stood there. She hangs up the phone and then looks at me, without saying anything like “thank you for your patience”, but she says “we’re still waiting on that order, the waiting area is over there” as if I’m bothering her, yet it was 7:45 and my order was estimated to be ready at 7:31.
I love their food and I’ve been eating here for about 6 years now. The food is consistently good and the service (for takeout) is consistently bad, but I guess the management is okay with that as long as we’re still spending our money there.
