We stopped at Boqueria at Colony Square on the way to the Atlanta airport—just looking to kill a little time and grab a good meal. For context, I only write reviews for places I’d return to or recommend to friends and family. This is one of them.
The restaurant is located in a financial district office complex in Atlanta, with convenient public parking in a garage underneath. The space itself is very well done—stylish featuring a fairly large square bar, comfortable booths, and a polished and hip feel.
Service was excellent. Our server, Katie, was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu clearly.
We started with the Market Salad—simple but very well executed. Fresh spring lettuces, lightly dressed with a balanced vinaigrette. It honestly felt like each leaf had just the right amount of dressing—clean, refreshing, and not overdone.
The boquerones (Spanish-style pickled white anchovies) were also very good—bright, vinegary, and fresh. They came with house-made potato chips, which we skipped, but the anchovies themselves were spot on.
The sumac chicken skewers were a tasty —tender, well-seasoned, and paired with a flavorful roasted red pepper sauce that worked nicely without overpowering the dish.
We also ordered the grilled broccolini, which was cooked perfectly—not mushy, still with some bite. The addition of almonds and raisins gave it a nice balance of texture and subtle sweetness without going too far.
I had the seared octopus, which was excellent—tender, well-cooked (which isn’t always the case with octopus), and nicely complemented by the accompanying potatoes .
We also tried two red wines—both were solid choices. One had a slightly fig-forward profile on the finish, while the other was smoother and more rounded.
Overall, a very enjoyable stop. Quality food, good service, and a very cool setting. Definitely a place I’d come back to, especially if I’m in the area again.
