10/10. The food is excellent, service is prompt, atmosphere is welcoming and the soca music in the background makes me feel like I am back home at a cafe. The owner, Melissa, is so lovely. We needed this place on this side of town. Go and explore the flavors of my island, Trinidad and Tobago. We have the best food in the Caribbean. I said what I said. 😂 I've had the Pholourie, doubles, Pelau, stew chicken, and the Sunday lunch which comes with callaloo, stew peas, stew chicken, macaroni pie (don't expect American mac n cheese) , cole slaw, and white rice. This is a typical Sunday lunch in T&T. Prices are a little higher than some other Caribbean places in ATL, but all I would say to that is, you get what you pay for. They don't skimp on the portions of the meals and everything is well seasoned. Fyi...Free parking, liquor license pending but you can bring your own.

My family and I have spent several years trying Trinidadian restaurants up and down the East Coast, from South Florida to New York. Despite all of the places that have become famous staples for Trinidadian food, I can say that Bara is the best I've had in the United States. If you are looking for an excellent culinary experience in Atlanta, you need to try Bara. I typically don't write reviews, but I need this restaurant to be as successful as possible: the Atlanta Caribbean food scene needs Bara. Bara is going to raise the bar for the standard and quality of Caribbean food here. As I tried the doubles, I saw the fresh, crispy Bara dough that looked like it was fried in a Trinidadian home, not something I would expect in a restaurant. The doubles were fresh with an extreme burst of flavor through the traditional technique of splashing chadon beni, pepper sauce, and cucumber on top. I am not overemphasizing or exaggerating: you need to try Bara. We are already making plans to go back for the curry crab. The service was great, with great hospitality and care. They are putting pride into their service, and it shows. I will be back with friends and family; everyone coming to visit will be trying Bara.

Visited with my husband because I had my heart set on some doubles and they did not disappoint. Traditional double for me and one with oxtail for him, it was so delicious. We ended up going back for seconds. He got shrimp the second time around and it was incredible. We will definitely be back.

My daughter and I used to follow the food truck to different events. So excited to see they have a store front. You order at the counter and they will bring to your table. They have juices, if you want alcohol BYOB (liquor store next door). I ordered to go. The doubles are outstanding. Corn soup hit the spot. Got the snapper Creole bowl, the portion was so hefty. Very good value and flavor (note this dish has a lot of onions if you are still childish like me). Friend got the pelau and licked his plate with his finger. I plan on going at least once every 2 weeks until I try everything on the menu. So happy for you guys and next stage of business.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food and better service, I’d recommend checking out Irie Mon Cafe Downtown or Norcross or Yardy Kitchen in Peachtree Corners instead. The customer service here was absolutely terrible. The light skinned girl with the bob hairstyle was extremely rude from the moment we arrived. To make matters worse, she added gratuity to my bill and claimed it was because she was working by herself. However, the menu clearly states that gratuity is added for parties of three or more. It says nothing about automatically charging gratuity because only one employee is working, especially when our party was only two people. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. There was nothing special about it, and you can easily find much better Jamaican food elsewhere. Our bill came to $120.98 for brown stew chicken, juice, and a few other items, which was completely unreasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Also, be aware that they do not currently have a liquor license, so alcohol is not available. Between the poor customer service, questionable charges, overpriced menu, and average food, I definitely won’t be returning.
